384 Unshaped vs. 4M shaped

So I finally got my line upgraded and so far I'm impressed.
My torrents is running along at a respectable 60-90 kB during peak hours, and zooming at 400 kB of peak.
I used to grab about 2.8 - 3 GB per day, but now I avarage 9.6Gb per day.
HTTP downloads is lightning fast, so is Youtube streaming.

You were right. I punced myself in the face for not upgrading sooner.

Lots of guys who have complaints about Mweb believe that their downloads should be 200KB during the day and 400KB after hours... inevitably they will be disappointed but for the rest of us we just schedule downloads to run between 1am and 8 am.

i use to be on 384k when i first moved to adsl, been on 4mbps for 2years now and there is no chance in hell i could ever go back.. even with the heavy shaping the 4mb option is far better in my opinion.

Ok...so this was a short honeymoon.
For the past 24 hours my average download speed was 10kB. I've done a whopping 2.3GB yesterday and today. Even during off peak I don't do much more than 40mb/hour.
This sucks. I want to go back to 384 unshaped. At least I did a solid 2.8GB a day.

Line stats.

This is a demonstration of shaping in it's purest form. I'm disgusted.

I did a average of 9kB from Saturday til now.

Well seeded torrents.

Before Saturday I did 400kB on torrents with a tenth of the seeds that I'm downloading now.

There's something wrong. Even with super heavy day time shaping I never get less than 50kb/s.

Lol my previous ISP throttled me to 256Kbps.

My transfer rate was 25kbps.

It was shiiiiiiiiit.

I've changed ISP's and am now running @ 512kbps (Transfer rate = 60Kbps)... Much better.

so just try it for a month? then you try 384....there's no contract...try it and see...i do about 7-8 gb a day easy...sometimes there is nothing on my line ...

ran out of things to download ;)
