Sorry, my post was more for marine1's benefit as I know he's worried that if he has no LAN port, he may lose out heavily.

From this post it seems that it is compatible. More research is to be done. I think a "key" to the best of LG smart media functionality is to see if it's got the "Magic remote" (with movement sensors). Media link (plex) is fairly new so expect to find some issues.

PLEX media option works great for youtube on the LG LW 5700. You will need to download the plex app from www.plexapp.com on one of the computers on the same wireless network on which the LG TV is connected. Only when you have installed on computer select the media link through the home button on LG remote and it will show you a lot of apps through plex. Select Youtube (you need to scroll down to the bottom for Youtube in the list of apps). Once installed you can do a search through the virtual keyboard on the screen. This works much better than the youtube app on LG TV.

I just bought the 47" one for R10799 2 weeks ago from Game. Game specials start every Thursday.

Price was R10999 at Makro and the Price now at Dion Wired is R17500, marked down from R19999.

Was looking at this just now at Makros website. Still R10999. Says it is the 47LW4500.
I am so freaking tempted. Wife will do something nasty to me though. 2 months ago I got the LG 42LE5500 and 1.5 Weeks ago the Sammy 46D550. If I go home with yet another TV - hmmmm... Sooo tempting though.

All the 2011+ 3D TV's will have cinema3D if the latest firmware upgrade is done. That means it will then have FHD 3D certified firmware and that means full HD for each eye and thus not the same as what Fudzy linked.

So the lag input issues for gaming and low 540p resolution in 3D been resolved? I cant seem to find a decent review on the webs for the47lw5700. Its currently going for 10500 at Dion wired.

No, still a pretty good TV for the price especially if you're hung-ho about 3D and will be using it a lot. My personal preference would be for the similarly priced Samsung from here ... http://www.fotodiscountworld.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/287_289_413/products_id/1754 (which I own & bought from there too).

I prefer the clarity of the D6000 UltraClear panel (different from the matt filter on the LW) and its smooth 200Hz CMR motion handling.

But it (Samsung) does not have cheap 3D glasses and also no 2D to 3D upscaling which I like a lot?
