Wait for the new one otherwise you'll kick yourself if you buy the 3rd gen and like a week or 2 later the 4th gen comes out!!!

What do you think of the 8Gb touch? Should i rather get the 32gb?
As i understand there are no 16 version?

thanks.

macboer, for lots of music and video the 32GB is a must. For me the 8GB is way more than enough as I use my Touch for apps and some music (no videos). The applications (and I've got many on my device) take up very little space. It therefore depends on what you want to do with the Touch.

Really wish I was going through Dubai when this model was available, would've culled my music collection to make it fit.

thanks bevonk! I doubt that i will use it for vids. Nice to know apps take little space. (As always more IS better though)

Thanks youve almost convinced me to go for 8.

macboer, I've currently got 60 applications and 95 songs on my Touch and I still have 4.6 GB available. Enough for me. Persons wanting to carry larger music collections, and those watching videos on their Touches, will definitely need more than 8GB. I manage my music and only keep songs on that I want to listen to (very easy to manage using iTunes). I'm currently following the Baseball in the States every night usiing my Touch. Yahoo!'s Sportacular app works great for this. For me the apps is what makes the Touch. For me the Touch is a like a mini iPad and not a media player, and for this 8GB is fine.

Anyone heard more news on when this is going to be released?

BeVonk!, unlike you I am constantly having to cull apps from my 8Gb Touch as I keep running out of space. Do you think the 2500 e-books might have something to do with it? :)

Rampage gaming are also advertising it. Don't know if they have it. It's in the iStore in Menlyn too.

I am torn between this and the iPod nano (6th generation). Is it worth the extra money? I know it has a lot of extra apps but would I ever use them?

What do you want to use the gadget for?

I travel a lot and there is a ton of waiting around at airports etc. so I'm getting the touch for music, movies, apps to fiddle around with and a few games whilst in transit.

To compliment the touch, I have also ordered a wireless bluetooth headset for when I hit the gym and I just need a decent armband to round it all off.

Must agree with everyone here - depends on what you want to use the device for.
If you ONLY want it for music and like the small size, then go for the Nano. If you want more functionality like movies, apps, mail etc. then go for the Touch ;)
