8800 GT, Worth It, Heat Issues ?

Yeh so why pay R7000 of R8000 in overkill.

Were talking R2500(for a 8800GT), So R7000/8000 may be overkill(for me yes) but others can afford it.
Your card can't handle newer games at decent settings(and neither can mine ATM) and thus im upgrading.

Well no one is paying that much, this card is less than R2500, or will be once prices settle.

And its because you aren't buying a good graphics card to play war3, if that's all you are playing then stick to a 6600GT but most people want to play newer games which a 6600GT could hardly run.

HD3850 512Mb :D thats all I have to say only 1.9k :)

And back to the thread :p

What would be the best/cheapest cooling solution at this card cause mine is on its way, getting the XFX Xtreme Edition and am prob gonna be looking at that Zalman VF900 with some AS Thermal paste

ah. so the GTX is overkill given its price? Hopefully when the 9 series comes out the price will drop sufficiently to make it worthwhile.

Is there anyone who runs any of these babies in SLI mode?

Thing is, when will those ones reach us?

The article says all 8800GT's shipped now will have the new cooler, so suppliers would have to get new stock in, but that is happening all the time in any case.

I actually decided not to wait though. :D

I have converted to the uberside of PC Gaming machines and frown upon low level devices that can only process data at measley levels. (I don't discriminate against people who can't afford ubertechnology infact I rob the rich of their uberdevices and give them to the poor, you see like robin hood but with motherboards.)

Beanie I have finally attained the power of the internet both at home and at work (although I can't search International sites at work no matter who I beat up).

Lolz I'm bored. :D
