8800 GT, Worth It, Heat Issues ?

hmm...i ordered mine on sunday night from america, would that classify as new or old stock then since they only got stock on the Sunday? :confused:

Aah, thanks for making me look at that again. I read it but thought Firestar just wasn't getting any at all. That will work out great then. :D
 
Have any of you had this problem on Vista 32bit and EN8800GT after installing the utilities on the 8800GT's CD?

"ATKFastUserSwitching has stop working and has been shut down" when you boot up?

I have not, but you can disable fast user switching in services, you probably don't need it. Might help, but it sounds like a random problem.

I forgot to mention that it's the ASUS version..so maybe it's ASUS spesific (Did Google it and found that it did also happen to other users).

Downloaded the new drivers so hopefully it fixes it.

BTW what is ATKFastUserSwitching?

Prophect have stock of the 8800GT's again, going fast. :eek:

I ordered one of the Inno3D OC cards they initially had up. :D :D
 
My space in my PCI-e slot is also going strong, with no relief of a 8800GT inserting into it any time soon:(
 
No actually Prophecy has stock as EKV stated...but im torturing myself as im waiting for EVGA stock to come in. I want one of the SuperSuperClocked cards(700,2000 OC).But they have been delaying their arrival in SA like a biatch! But my patience must continue although i feel like ripping my hair out!
Original ETA of these cards were 3WEEKS ago!

Well, every game I have (except Crysis) runs at 80FPS+ so I'm probably not even going to notice an overclocked 8800GT :p Not that I would say no to one, mind you :D

The thing is there will be a bit of performance increase, but im getting it at a very good price and i will be able to sell it at the same price if i wish to upgrade to a 8800GTS SSC card(if its worth it mind you). So in the long term it will be a better buy(money wise;) And the 10 yr warranty doesn't hurt either.
