I can't find this anywhere. I can't send SMSs from the dashboard anymore? I used to send a blank SMS to 188 to get my Data balance, but for the past few days sending any sms failed. Sending USSD codes also times out or gives no response.
Can someone help me please?

Same thing happens to me with the Cell C dashboard. Wonder if somethings changed?

Was having the same issue. I just wonder about all those other people aren't as tech savvy or a myBB member. My sms's now work with the SMSC 8ta posted above. Is there no way of auto-updating it for us next time (if there is a next time?)

I know this is a onld forum, but i get this message on my 8ta dash now saying: "The Text Centre number cannot be empty, yet i cannot edit it or add a number.
I put the dongle into the laptop, start up the software, put in the sim card pin, yet no network is picked up either.
This is really strange cause everything still worked perfectly last night.

The first step: remove pin protection. You can restore it later.
Secondly it looks like a dashboard has no contact with modem. Exit the program, remove any other dashboard from memory, including systray and start again.

Thanks man
Although i think the modem does have contact.
I start up the dashboard, and the
Here it asks for the pin, i then enter it

So it seems like it picks up the device, just no TMC number or newtwork found.
The only other dashboard i have is for Vodacom Mobile Connect. So i should remove that?
And how do i remove pin protection?

Sorry for all the questions mate

All right, but Vodacom software is known to take over. So open Voda MC, go to the options, and select two options:
- exit from systray on exit
- do not run on startup

Then exit MC. Done

You can remove pin protection in any phone, but start from above.

I've done all this, but still nothing
The dongle and sim have worked together fine for the last 2 years.
Worked Sunday evening, but when i started it up Monday morning suddenly nothing worked anymore.
Teklom will now have to sort this out, if they respond to my emails or calls....one day
