8ta speeds suck! Report here... [solved!]

I dont have a speedtest to back this up but I have noticed that browsing the net seemed to be much slower than it used to be. It is still very much usable compared to Cell C....but there was definately a obvious slowdown. I will see how it is tonight. This is in Bruma JHB. Ill do a speedtest also.
 
WTF? Last night my connection was unusable, wouldn't even open a webpage. Why is 8ta ignoring us ?
 
Speeds were awesome the first week of contract. With every week that passes, it gets worse and worse.

I am at the limit of what I can tolerate.
 
Received the following from 8ta:

"We have sent this query to our network department for investigation. We are aware of the posts (on myBB) and will log the queries with the network department as for the complainants as they interact with us providing us with the necessary information.
They have a team who deals with these investigations and should revert to us with a response as soon as they can. "

At least they know about this.
 
high ping and slow speeds

Sunday I had pings of +- 900 and last night I had pings of +- 400. Speeds are really really poor too.

I am in PE.

It is amazing that Telkom can get away with things like this. They give you nice speeds sign up 1 million idiots like me and then drop the speeds...TIA. :D
 
I'm also in P.E

I checked about 30 min ago and my ping was 110 ms. starting to come down, but the download speed was a little over 1mb. I managed to update BF3 in about 15 min. I normally have speeds of around 6-8mb.
 
Lets hope it stays like this. Maybe it was some newbie & 8ta that thought throttling was to make it faster.:D
 
Ill try bfbc2 again tonight, and if it sucks, i might just get some real life frags at the 8ta offices... :mad:

Exactly. Same happened here, only first week was 40ms.

Poor local. International now at 700-800ms.............


So yesterday this time the latency issues kicked in after being great all day. It seems to be back, although not as bad as yesterday...yet. Local is over 100ms, but international is much worse:500-600ms. Was 200ms earlier. I am pretty convinced they are throttling certain times of the day as this has been a constant thing now for a while. Guess we have to wait for that official statement they promised me today.

Anyone else wanna check, ping yahoo.co.uk. I find when this is in lower 200's my latency is pretty good. Speeds not too bad, but I am all about the latency.

Before 6:00pm it was Ok(Normal Latency,DL and UL) BUT after 6:00 it changed to the above result. If I'm not mistaken basically the same time as yesterday, give or take a few minutes, maybe it's just a coincidence.

Looked like it was coming right and bam, back up to 890ms. not a happy camper at all.

Where are 8ta?

What the hell is going on 8ta. Not responding to the problems, ignoring paying customers. It's ridiculous. 2 weeks ago I tested the network, it was excellent so I signed up for a contract, and for the past week I've been sitting with the worst service and speeds I've ever encountered. Nothing but complete silence from 8ta. It's shameful and disgusting.

Holy cow!

I've just been trying to get some work done, and as I've sat here, it's gotten progressively worse! I eventually decided to do some speed tests, check at what I got, PING OVER 1 SECOND!

First test: 21:23, Last test: 21:29

So over a period of 6 minutes, the latency goes from 910ms to 1067ms! This is surely the worst!

And YES, it has the light blue light on!
 
Guess im not the only one suffering !!!!

Im a huge 8ta fan but I was playing online now and couldnt bare it anymore ran a speedtest and this is my result im always bragging with my 72ms ping and 6.8 down and 2.0 upload ??

WHAT went wrong

Im in the southern suburbs of Cape Town and ALWAYS had stable speeds with amazing ping
