Where can i get one of these? you have them for sale and are you in the Western Cape?
Did you take them for training? Is it about being firm or your "aura" being of the man of the house?
Bullterrier's are awesome with kids however it's like having another child in the house - they must be part of the family & sleep inside preferably in your bed hehehe
so, according to PetMD.com these are the best breeds for kids
#10 The Bull Dog
#9 The Beagle
#8 The Bull Terrier
#7 The Collie
#6 The Newfoundland
#5 The Vizsla
#4 Irish Setter
#3 The Poodle
#2 Labrador Retriever
#1 The Golden Retriever
Both are engine rags... plain and simple.
I grew up with a Staffie - he was a great dog, albeit a bit dominating at times. When I was very little he would go out of his way just to push me over. But I think it would be different if the dog grows up with the kid
We know have a Pit bull. She is a brilliant dog and very protective over children, but nasty to other dogs, so maybe not the best choice.
I also have a Beagle. They are extremely friendly and I think they are a great choice for kids. They are very naughty, and will eat EVERYTHING, but personality and temperament-wise you can't get better.
And people, there is no such thing as a Maltese Poodle.
This is a maltese:

and this is a poodle:

I think I would go with a border collie or poodle.
As puppies they will grow up with the kid, both are extremely intelligent, easy to train and well behaved.

If you do go for a border collie just be aware that they need A LOT of exercise. Walks every day and a big property. They get frustrated otherwise and start chewing things and toys will be crunched.
