A dog for my son

Bullterrier.
Had one as I grew up and he was a riot. Lots of fun, full of energy - but would always play carefully so as not to hurt anyone. Make sure you get the brown-eyed chaps though. Very comical and clever, as ours quickly picked up on what we mean if we talk to him, or tell him to "run around the house to the other entrance" - where he'd stop at the gate and give one bark if there's no one to open up.
He would NOT enter the carpeted areas in the house unless there was really nasty lightning at night (his only fear), then he'd sneak upstairs to my room and with a very embarrassed posture look into my room if I could provide him a little comfort. After tucking him back into his bed in the kitchen (big box with lots of bedding), he'd sleep the night through
When the hamster escaped at one point, he found him and barked for us to fetch the rascal. (We did introduce the two early on though and he knew the hamster was part of the family)
Extremely loyal, he will kill / give his life to protect the family.
Miss him terribly and would love to have another Bullterrier, but I refuse to have a pet if I have to leave him home alone for hours at a time.

A miniature pinscher. They’re lovely little companion dogs. Small but so much heart. My son used to be scared of dogs. This is the type of fellow that started his love affair with animals.

You only pick it up until your son is big enough to use the shovel himself.
Also with the poop pile being a lil bigger... They are easier to spot.
Boerbuls are absolutely lovely dogs, but as the dad in the house you would have to train it, as due to their size it can be difficult to handle them (as they grow). Even that blows over very quickly.
Another option would be a female ridgeback. Very trainable and they adore playing with kids.

Why not a Maltese ? these are really well behaved, they don't get vicious, they are sooo tolerant of kids, especially if you got the dog very young so the two can bond properly?

Get the lab or Jack Russell. Or just get a mix, they're always the best.

This guy is looking for a kid loving mutt. Something with lots of energy and a big heart. His kid's dog is bound to never see a dog show.... Better be a sturdy muttley.
Your's are fine boned and more suited as lap dogs, than a running jumping, pulling buddy/mutt.
A 10th generation pavement special medium mutt would be better suited for his son.
So maybe you should look in the mirror when reading your post.
Clearly you have NO idea about this dog. I suggest you first do research before posting falsely. These dogs are known for their agility, they do fantastic in agility shows, they are playful, fantastic with kids, and they are NOT a lapdog. Yes, if you train them to sit on your lap all day they can do it, but they love to run around, jump in the air and play. They are not like Yorkshire terriers / chihuauas they are more like a softened version of a jack russel. Go look on youtube to see some videos. I am not stupid to recommend this dog for a child if it was a lapdog. Give me some credit please.

I am chilled But it makes my blood boil if people that doesn't know this breed spread lies about it. I think its the most beautiful dog in the world, but some might not agree. There is no reason to be nasty about it and call them butt ugly rats.
