Can you remove SMSs from going to the same messaging app as iMessage?
Nope, designed to be in the same place, hence the name "Messages". That is why I wish most of my contacts had iPhones too, so that iMessages and SMS's could be all in one place. But yeah, this concept only makes sense in the US where WhatsApp or other platforms are in the minorityCan you remove SMSs from going to the same messaging app as iMessage?

Couldn't have said it better myself. I have said before, nothing in life is perfect. One expect it to be, but it is not. Despite being a huge Apple fan, I'm not blind to the quirks or shortfalls. One doesn't always understand Apple's reason for doing certain things in a certain way, maybe there is method to the madness or maybe not, but it is what it is.The one mistake you don’t want to make is trying to use an iPhone like it’s an Android phone, either accept that it simply is not an Android or rather buy an Android. Yes there are some “Android-esque” features Apple are adding but as you can see they are done in an Apple-esque manner, iOS will never be Android and vice versa.
Why though?

Suggest blocking the numbers. Thankfully I don't receive any, maybe once or twice a month. There’s a flood on spam messages, banking message’s etc - and it would be great to separate them, even into text and iMessage
Yeah judging by this thread a superior Android.Suggest blocking the numbers. Thankfully I don't receive any, maybe once or twice a month.
Get a burner phone!![]()
Then exempt from the Cool Kids' Club. All in the name of separating spam from genuine SMSs since there would be no iMessage? Like who even SMSs these days? Even housekeepers and gardeners have fancy phones which support WhatsApp and Telegram.Yeah judging by this thread a superior Android.
As noted above many OTP's including Afrihost and banking OTP's still come through SMS.Then exempt from the Cool Kids' Club. Bottom line, if you want to roll with the Boy Boys, go iPhone and enjoy the elite iMessage and FaceTime.
Great, straight to the top!As noted above many OTP's including Afrihost and banking OTP's still come through SMS.
Use the message filtering setting, this splits messages from numbers that exist in your contacts from everything else. There’s a flood on spam messages, banking message’s etc - and it would be great to separate them, even into text and iMessage
Nice!Use the message filtering setting, this splits messages from numbers that exist in your contacts from everything else.

If you have to use OTP's, get an iPhone. If you tap on "From Messages" it fills in the OTP for you. No need to switch between apps.

Not autofill from messages. (The first part of my post was just a little dig at BSB being with Capitec). You mean Android doesn’t do that?
