I've actually signed up with UnoTelly, but failed on making payment to Hulu/Netflix via Paypal and decided to re-evaluate.

Quick one - Did you make payment for Netflix or sign up from your PS3 using your SA credit card? How did that work?

I pay Hulu+ with a US Paypal account. I couldn't link a SA credit card to the US paypal account 'cause I needed a US Social Security number. So I transferred money from my SA paypal account to my US paypal account and Hulu debits the US Paypal account. Else you can just buy pre-paid cards from buyfrompowerseller.com ... which probably works out cheaper.

Wow, thanks! I haven't tried signing up to Netflix using my own card details (also FNB - phew!) and putting a fake address - I'm going to try this tonight!

I'm still in the trial but Netflix accepted my card to create the account. There's $50 (non-rechargeable) on the card I got from buyfrompowerseller so I'll use that for now, somehow I doubt that the transaction will go through on my SA card.

Transferring from a SA Paypal account to a US one seems like the least hassle to me.

Excellent - thanks. I've tried to download Netflix/Hulu apps yesterday from my PS3, but my internets can like to be down.
Just logged an insurance claim - lightning damage :(
 
If you want the latest episodes. Same day or next day, as released in the US then you have to use Hulu Plus. The ads are really irritating though. Netflix is about a season behind but have all episodes and no ads.

I know it's all about HD here but for a latest series why not use free streaming and it is up to date without any proxy or fees.

Am I missing something?

Hi Smokey.

The point we are making is replacement of DSTV, so basically have series streamed to your TV and not PC.
I wouldn't bother will all of the effort to get Netflix setup for my PC.

Are you streaming from your TV or HTPC?

We know that there is many ways to access tv content over the Internet. We don't dispute that, but we want the best and simplest way to access it. Basically a Dstv replacement with much more content to view at the press of a button. Do you forever want to watch tv content by means of htpc, xbox, play station, hp micro server, etc. No we want no save space, looks neat, no noise and easy to configure devices to use. The ultimate method would be to have all these channels, plug in, scripts, addons, etc all builtin to the flat screen.

You catch my drift buddy.;-)

So far, I have gathered the following requirements (please correct me if I am wrong):

1. Uncapped DSL connection - check
2. VPN service (Unotelly/Playmo.tv)
3. Mastercard vouchers from power seller dude (http://www.buyfrompowerseller.com/hulu-plus-outside-us/)
4. Register Mastercard vouchers on http://www.fakenamegenerator.com/ to ensure card is linked to a genuine US address
5. Use above card to make payment to Hulu/Netflix

On the streaming side, I would stream through my PS3.
I have gathered that you would need to install the Hulu/Netflix apps, but in order to do this you would need to create a US PlayStation Network account (I will get this done today to test).

Did I miss anything? If anyone is running it on a PS3, please let me know if this runs well.

It's odd everyone having trouble with their credit cards and Netflix. I signed up with my fnb card about 6 months ago and I'm having no hassles

Edit: I had unotelly enabled while I was signing up. Maybe someone try using tunnel bear for the sign up process?

Not sure if anyone will see this... but I'm running Netflix on my PS3 now, and it works beautifully.

I used something called Playmo for doctoring my source IP.
Go to www.playmo.tv and sign up. I then configured my PS3 to use their DNS servers.
The strange thing is... they give an 8 day trial. Mine expired last Wednesday and I'm still watching Netflix flawlessly!
 
I signed up trials with unotelly, Netflix and Hulu+. Netflix and Hulu accepted my SA cr card BUT I used a US zip code. Watched a few bits and pieces and it seems fine.

Aslo set up Netflix on my XBOX using my 8ta account and that also worked.
 
For guys like me that want to access Netflix from an Xbox 360 - we have to pay for the following:

1.VPN account,
2. Netflix account
3. ADSL account
4. Xbox Live Gold Account

It suddenly becomes more than DSTV P/M. :(
