ADSL drops intermittently around 7pm

Hi All, OK so tonight I took my ASUS N66U Router out of the equation and just hooked up my other Netgear DG834G modem router (My other Netgear acts as a bridge for the Asus)

Issue started again tonight as usual, this time from around 7:15pm through to just after 8pm. After that, everything normalizes.

In you netgear go to show statistics, it will look like this:

Well its not your stats, because those stats are perfect.

Maybe the LAN cable connecting both routers is faulty or your WIFi adapter is giving you issues.

Thanks I'm connected to LAN but will swap the cables to check. The thing about that though is that if it was a problem with the LAN cable, I'd have connection issues all the time? This problem with the packet loss only happens at very specific times.

If you look at the PingPlotter image, would this not point to some exchange or line issue as opposed to something to do locally on my end? https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4XEz3WKcogEaUR5ZGEzWHg1X0k/edit?usp=sharing

Thanks again

Check the POTS filter if you are using the line for any analogue calls. Sometimes when there is no filter (or its faulty) any such call might also cause this.

Thanks actually just bought a new POTS filter today, will see if it makes a difference when 6pm rolls around and the issues start again

Hi Roger,

Would you like us to monitor your exchange for you at this time to see if there are any issues there? If so, please drop a mail to [email protected] now so that we can get the setup right on our end. We'd like to help you out here.

Just sent some details via email but let me know if you require anything else from my side. Also sent PingPlotter image showing the issues last night, but it was happening again this morning from around 9-10am. Weekend patterns seem a bit different but also monitoring things on my end via PingPlotter.

But again, super stoked for the offer to help and sincerely appreciated!

So I tested tonight using an entirely new POTS filter and 2 different LAN cables (one bought today as well), but the problems still occurred at the expected period

Packet loss first occured at 5:40pm, then kicked in at semi-regular intervals from around 6:20pm - 8:20pm. Last 20 minutes has been trouble-free, which is when the issue normally comes right.
