i wonder how many people left cybersmart over the past 24 months....

Never had to call an isp for support other than Telkom for line faults, over the years used Mweb, Afrihost, Web Africa and Telkom isp. So can’t really vote.

Based on service levels of adsl account I rate Telkom highest

Since even when theres seacom downtime they arent affected ever unless its more major than just seacom. I'll rather have a stable account 24 hours a day than one which could drop anytime.

This compliments vs complaints table is completely meaningless. Consumers hardly ever give compliments to a company when things are going well, but very readily complain when things go wrong. So the compliments vs complaints ratio is completely devoid of any meaning.

+1. I was just about to post the same thing. People don't make much effort to post on HelloPeter if everything is going smoothly.

Uptime in terms of their cable may be better but customer support is absolutely terrible...

People are more likely to bitch & moan and not compliment. So I don't think hellopeter statistics is anything you could really go by.

That is why I rated MWEB the highest, since if Seacom does go down, they're usually up and running within 10 minutes on their SAT3 links... unlike other ISP's who go down entirely.

To be fair, people complain more than give compliments.

It is a general fact that people would rather complain than leave a compliment so the "compliments" ratio doesn't mean anything.

As far as I know, Web Africa also has a backup? I've never been completely down on my Web Africa account.

Edit: Woops, double post

Telkom - 8% : One has to wonder where the hype about Telkom still being the most reliable and best internet option comes from. Sounds to me like good old propaganda instigated by Telkom itself and perpetuated by the impressionable. I mean you hear it almost every day. Some punk in a forum posts "Telkom is still the best".

Like... LOL - Statistics never lie. Get over it Smellkom fanboys.

-1 Not true - When a company actually get's a few compliments it just means a lot. I'd say anything above 20% is fabulous. We all know people are passionate about their complaints, but a fair percentage of customers actually taking the time to compliment a service indicates something special.

Get with the program guy. I'm not with Telscum and Seacom does not affect connectivity anymore. That was only in the early days before service providers implemented redundancy. 90% of the time when i have connectivity problems it is due to Telkom's network failing.

Correct Method :)
We run our primary links via SAT3 and have redundancy setup on SEACOM.

I can't believe Axxess is rated so badly - I was with them for a few months and they always dealt with any queries I had quickly, they also have 24/7 support so you can call them anytime :)

Whell, Telkom is the worst cause they just dont give a rats ass..

I wouldn't say that. Out of all the ISP's I've been with, Telkom Internet is the only one who has had perfect uptime and consistently high speeds.

People need to realise that Telkom Internet and Telkom SA are not the same. Telkom Internet deals with data accounts, on the same level as Openweb for example. Where as Telkom SA deals with the copper, telephone and adsl lines.

Every time something goes wrong on the Telkom SA side, Telkom Internet are wrongly accused.

Been bounced around to 5 people whilst looking for the Accounts department at Afrihost, typing this while on the phone right now... :(

Edit: Sixth now, WTF.
