ADSL pricing comparison

One more thing guys , I dont think some of your answers to Darrylh is called for , no need for the profanity. I agree , silly question but lets keep it above the belt please.

DarrylH's question proves one thing: in SA, we have NO clue what the internet is about because we are severely limited in our exploration and use of it. A lot of people can only think within the confines of their 1Gb or 3Gb cap. There's only so much you can do with such a small amount of bandwidth and therefore you only do so much. We don't appreciate all the opportunities presented by the internet because we can't even contemplate them without spending exorbitant and prohibitive amounts of cash. There are probably numerous (legal!) ways to burn a 60Gb cap, but none of us will ever find out as long as we are throttled in our utilisation by Telkom and the like. Telkom is almost single-handedly responsible for our internet backwater status and could largely be blamed for the internet ignorance of the average Joe, today represented by the honourable DarrylH. Give the guy some room and perhaps try to educate without being too smugly elitist and superior.

i was in china in november, i was charged 40RMB (R60p/day to get 20Mbit uncapped) after a week went to the local internet cafe, paid for 10RMB to book a machine all day on 20Mbit uncapped, let it download hd content off torrents, pulled stuff down on direct dl's. have you ever downloaded a movie faster than you could read the reviews on it?
TIA - emmigrate

*sic* telkom are forced to charge the price that they do, because we are so far from the rest of the world.... unlike Aus and NZ who are practically sitting on the US and EU costlines... *sic*

Telkom offers consumers a 384 Kbps service with a 1 GB usage limit for R 199 per month. This is better value for money than BigPond Australia’s 256 Kbps service with a 200 MB cap for R 196 per month

That anomalous Aussie internet package is obviously for retards only.

Telkom probably thinks we are retards too.
