Users across South Africa experienced problems with their ADSL service today

Same here! I rushed to Engen to get a prepaid voucher only to discover that it was not the cause of the problem

*hiss* My IS account is capped so I'm on a cruddy 2GB with TI. How am I meant to enjoy a wonderful Friday afternoon with Telkom playing rumpy-pumpy with my connection?

I've been using my Axxess account since this morning, and it's working fine. Axxess is on SAIX, so I think it's just Telkom Internet.

even iBurst is messed up because of this. Its an hour past 14:00 and I still haven't seen any improvement

Some of our clients have sent their employees home as they hardly have any connectivity to their international offices. Looks like Telkom's routing data through the satellites because of issues on SAT3. At least that's what I hear. That means IS should be fine as they're on sat anyway. Problem is Telkom's funneling all traffic through sats that aren't coping with volume. That would explain why some have decent connectivity while others are suffering. Oh, and my clients are on leased so it's not just DSL.
