[:D] Yes, it seems my little "uncapped" luxury has expired.
Faster Capped Speeds?

Seriously. I could also for a while not even get through to MYADSL and at the moment it is still a problem. Looks like a DNS problem because I am accessing all sites normally through my work's internet where I have a remote access connection.

Same here, took me 10 minuets to get in to My-ADSL.
Pop servers are responding erratically
telkomsa.net is up but all other local sites are very flaky.

I agree with ernstn - must be a DNS problem

Cheers
Chris

What the hell is going on with this dam service, its not working more than it is.[:(!]

Hi All,

It is a DNS problem, I finally got hold of an ADSL support person, and as usual they are working on the problem and can't give a time to resolve it, can't fault them there as I am also into network support and at least they admit there is a problem.

The bottom line is that if you acquire a connection, don’t drop it, it will continue working, but may not reconnect.

Cheers
Chris

Maybe Telkom should use myAdsl as a bulletin board in case they do experience problems. Most of us tonight checked here to see if there was something wrong. Mweb was not aware of a problem as well. Now if RPM adds an ADSL status page to this website(please!!) and Telkom publishes problems and planned service unavailability here it can achieve a few things:

a) The client would be aware of problems and not start checking his equipment for faults

b) The helplines of both the ISP and Telkom will not be flooded with calls.

c) There will be no rumours about bits and bobs picked up all over the show

Overall this leads to a much happier client-customer relationship because the client will not be frustrated by an inefficient help service and can plan his internet usage accordingly.

Now that would be one point leading to a proper service delivery and it is about time that Telkom realises the power of myadsl

Wow. great idea .. ... Wait, who needs to update it, Telkom? ROFL

Swonk taht eno ylno eht si nidrrym.

But seriously. It is a great idea, however that would mean Telkom would have to admit that MyAdsl exist and that in itself could take a while as we have seen with the complaint etc that according to Telkom 88+% of Adsl users have no need for this forum.

yea, we're still having probs with DNS, like for 2 days. it drives us up on the wall. lets hope its fixed soon.

oh btw, can u tell whats good DNS servers that I can use? I'm on the router, and MWEB is our isp. this moment I use 196.43.1.13 and 196.43.3.206 for DNS. thanx!

You must use whatever servers are advertised to you, otherwise just run your own cacheing nameserver (not dificult)
