Advice needed - Solar System

So I made pmt for my system. I will update this thread as and when it proceeds. Got a quote for installation but he is backed up for a month at least.

After making the payment, it was comforting to know that Eskom agreed with me starting the move to off grid by announcing load shedding stage 2.

Anyone that recommend an good installer in Cape Town (West Beach)? I would like somebody to come out and take a look to make recommendations.

I'm looking to do a inverter and battery system first, then later add panels.

@RonSwanson posted a link with all the accredited Sunsynk installers in SA. It was AFAIK on the Sunsynk website.

Just for reference: Sunsynk approved installers:

Approved-Installer-Title.png

We have three categories of approvals.

1. Registered installer, this is an installer who has fitted more than three Sunsynk inverters.

2. Sunsynk approved installer this is an installer who has fitted more than 10 Sunsynk systems a mixture of single and multi systems, thus demonstrating a good knowledge of the Sunsynk operating system.

3. Master Sunsynk installer this is installer who has fitted more than 50 Sunsynk inverter systems.

Sokolic Solar is approved and have some May month specials on backup systems.
Just an FYI, I've enquired and they have a 2 week leadtime on installations. Check their facebook page for more details.

Hmm, some of the Google reviews give me pause regarding after sales support.

Yip, saw that, like always, buyer beware.
That company you referred to earlier does some neat work from their posts on their facebook page. Not much in the line of reviews to go on though.
I'll probably go with an installer recommended by powerforumstore.

Mike from Thorne Solar dropped by my place today, likely going to go with the 8kw Sunsynk and 5.5kwh Hubble. No batteries available at present though so will have to wait until June earliest.

Should have a quote tomorrow and will decide.

His work looks super neat, I have stalked him on Facebook. ;)
Master Sunsynk installer so must surely now what he's doing.

His quote was a little too high for me, about R6k more that what the inverter, battery & installation costs through Powerforum & their recommended installer. Also no CoC included in his quote which would make it about R7/8k more for me.
(I'm only doing backup for now with panels in the future).

@Snyper564 The next four days I will be sorting the garage out, (including tearing out an old cupboard which the previous owners installed). As I am planning to use the garage wall that is against the house as the location for my install. My plan is that it is installed similar to your layout in your setup pic, except to the top right I have my distribution board which is located next to the doorway leading to the house/kitchen. The old cupboard is currently next to the distribution board. I also want to use a portion of the garage wall for my tools. So I would like to know more or less your dimensions, as I would "reserve the area" for the install and use the space to the left for mounting my hand tools. I don't want to inadvertently use to much space of the said wall for my tools.

Although it is only two batteries for now, the plan is to install in future another two.

Picture (yours edited) of how I visualise my install:
