Was just wondering if AH would be able to change their Simfy add-on to Apple Music?. I have been on Simfy for nearly 3 years now and until recently, when I got fed up with their crappy selection and sometimes poor quality of the music, don't even get me started on their pathetic support. Anyway, I was browsing around for a new music streaming service and saw a comparison of all the services available in SA. I signed up for the 3-month trial Apple Music service (BTW the premium service is also R60) and don't regret the move at all, they have a fantastic selection, its organised and I'm loving the store as well. So my question to you AH, would you be able start a poll to see what your customers would prefer on the Afrihost + offering?

We would definitely like to hear what your thoughts are on add-ons that you guys would like to see. I can't promise that we'll implement the suggestions that you have, but we'll definitely bear it in mind.

Have you tried out Google Music? How does it compare for you? Are there any other streaming services you would be interested in seeing on Plus+? :)

Yes! I want Apple Music. Please change from Simfy to Apple Music. Much much more value and you'll get more customers for AH+ with Apple Music

Google Music is pretty boss. They seem to have a huge selection, and new albums for the sort of stuff I listen to appear shortly after the release date. I'm still in the free trial period at the moment.

What little experience I had with Simfy yonks ago really put me off.

This. Also it's available on the web where Apple music is still stuck in the dark ages.

I think offering Apple Music will exclude a whole load of clients, don't you agree? I think Simfy does offer a bit more of a consolidated platform. :)

i also wouldnt mind an Apple Music option.

i dont think that Simfy should be removed, just an add on Apple Music as a option.

I think it would cause a problem for a few customers. Apple Music is just so much better and if people see that option on your AH + add-on, I think it would help get more subs. Simfy is losing the race, Apple Music has a wide variety and the ability buy a song or a album if you want it, where as Simfy is limited. Besides you get the feeling that Simfy doesn't care about what they offer, they just dump what ever sounds good to them, not the public. Haven't tried the google music yet, but I think I will be deactivating my Simfy account when the Apple Music Account goes premium :)

Interesting points. :) I must say that we still use Simfy in the office and it's almost become 2nd nature. I suppose it's what you get used to. Perhaps an interesting thought would be to do away with the music subscription and include a movie streaming service instead? Do you think this would appeal to more people?

**DISCLAIMER** I'm not saying in any way that we're considering offering this, but it would be interesting (from my perspective) to hear your thoughts on this. :)

A movie streaming service might actually be really awesome....as long as its not Showmax or Netflix, then I will gladly sign up :)...I have a standby Netflix account in case my current streaming service goes down, haven't touched Netflix in nearly 3 months.

It's obviously something we've thought about - we are working with Netflix and Showmax in terms of optimising performance on our network, so hopefully it's something that could materialise.

Since you mentioned those as two you wouldn't want - what services would you suggest?

Netflix still needs work, lots of work in my opinion nothing much has changed, I checked it again on Thursday because my current service was bombing out due to maintenance on the server. I'm currently using https://gomovies.to/. So unless Netflix pulls a rabbit out their A$$es, I don't think people would sign up.

I think we should stick to adding a new music service Afriman:)...more value for money don't you think?

I think music is definitely an important add-on for most people, especially on mobile. Simfy is still great, but I guess people have preferences for the services that carry more of the type of content they like. I would personally love to choose between a few different ones ;)
