Degraded Speeds Update [Posted: 28 Nov 12]Increased Latency and degraded speeds issue have been resolved, we will continue to monitor as all services stablize and return to normal.

Last I checked this morning at 9am, it was still extreeeemely slow. I am in Cape Town.
Last night I couldn't even do a successful speedtest. Kept timing out.

Afriman, when can we expect the speed to get back to normal. Afrihost seems to be losing alot of customers in the past week alone.

It's difficult to plan redundancies for issues outside of your network.

Sure, but as I understand from this thread there was a single (sure it is a big chassis beast, but still) point of failure in the network, what makes it worrying is that it is an upstream (i.e. assumed to be a bigger fish with more to lose) provider who I would expect you or MTN would pick based on metrics such as redundancy/reliability etc.

MTN obviously don't have the best brand perception in this forum, so the bad timing of this issue along with some of the other teething problems you are running in to during the move are compounding hurting the brand a bit. I hope you manage to sort the issues out and your decision proves to have been a good one, but for the moment I will continue to use other providers until I see a drastic improvement - this for the uncapped ADSL products specifically, not all your other services.
