I am an Afrihost user and have not had one problem with them since they started their R29.00 special.

I have however never seen so many negative posts against an ISP as I have seen against them. The biggest thing is that it is usually unsubstantiated claims and complaints by users.

I am starting to suspect that other ISP's are deliberately using underhand tactics to undermine the credibility of Afrihost. It is as if they are being sabotaged through negative posts.

That is the perception I am getting.

I also have the R29 p/GB special. I don't have any issues with them as well.

I have been with them for about 3 months.

Thanks for the support everyone - Really heartwarming to hear from our happy clients!

Unfortunately one of this life's laws is that you can never ever please everyone. I'm convinced that if we gave away ADSL for free with no catches there would still be people who'd be unhappy!

That said we definitely do stuff up occasionally and when we do, we do our best to fix the situation however we can.

Thanks again - We sincerely appreciate the support!

It never happened to you, you never saw it happened to anyone else, therefore it cannot happen.

@OutOfTheBox: I really am sincerely sorry that you're unhappy with us.

I would love to help you out however I can to try and change your perception of us.

In order to help you out I'd like to understand what caused your frustration. I will PM you and hopefully we can resolve this to your satisfaction.

Thanks.

Big ups to GIAN "the" ISP CEO!!! I realize people screw up but this a open economy if you don't like em there ain't a contract, feel free to leave if you aren't happy!

From my point of view : The complaints so far with AfriHost was due to the end user not fully reading or understanding the T&C's.

Never had any problem with them so far, and is satisfied with their service.

I don't have a problem if a customer has a legitimate complaint and voices his opinions. But when they make unfounded allegations and are taken to task, they should back down and apologise. This will also win them back some respect. Everyone makes mistakes, not everyone likes to acknowledge their mistakes!

I have been watching the posts on Afrihost as I too may soon move to them, and so far almost all the negative posts I have read could have easily have been sorted out with a phone call.

Some people just like to moan.

Gian is the SHIZ!

Never used them before, but they have done a lot for us since they are still lowering prices from other ISPs - way to go Gian!

Well I am sure unhappy with Afrihost, Gian you should listen to the support call I made this morning - my account [email protected] - eventually had to escalate the issue with IS.

Do listen to the recording! Sent an email and as yet have not received a response.

I'm also extremely happy with Afrihost:).

As for sabotage: It's basically just OutOfTheBox who has taken such a vindictive approach however lots of guys have legitimate queries. Usually, as mentioned by Libs, they are a result of the end user.

No problems on my side with Afrihost.
Been using them for about 4 months.

I have been with Afrihost now since I got adsl and I am happy, granted I am seeing odd problems but they are probably related to Telkom's line. I like innovation and Afrihost threw a few cats amongst the complacent pigeons, and thats a good thing.
