So as of 22:40 tonight everything is running as expected, will test at around 19:00 tomorrow night and post what I get (this is the average time when nothing was working near what it should have been) so far things seem promising :D

on my business uncapped, 1 gig capped and axxess 1 gig capped account I am getting no NNTP and torrent connectivity. This is my trace route for all 3 accounts

Difference - hop 3. When it's working fine, it's going to ipc-recieve-rb-1a.za.mtnbusiness.net [41.181.178.53]. When it's useless, it goes to ipc-recieve-rb-4a.za.mtnbusiness.net [41.181.178.89]. Note the ping being inconsistent on the ****ed one.

WHY does it change when it's working fine on the first one, and why have you scientists not determined that in the previous 3 weeks I've been waiting for feedback?

REALLY pathetic. You guys should not be paid to deliver ISP accounts. Your tech support always just wants to recreate the port, but have no insight beyond that.
 
Today I had issues connecting to Battlefield 4 servers and my little brother couldn't chat to his friends on Teamspeak. Ordinarily, this all works fine without any issue. Today, only switching to WebAfrica capped works. Sometimes the BF4 server would return a generic error message and tell me to check port 3569 UDP (or something in that range, didn't write that one down). Other times, it'd just fail to connect and tell me just as much, but provide no further details. Teamspeak just wouldn't connect no matter what I did, except for switching to WebAfrica on a dial-up account.

Tracerts and pings to both servers go through fine. Speedtests are fine. I have nothing blocking any outbound connections. Router rebooted, DNS cache flushed. If this persists tomorrow, I'll take it further. If it continues to persist, I may have to look into moving to another ISP. Thankfully, there aren't any other issues to report so far, though I haven't been dedicating any time to monitoring the connection quality.

After the extremely slow speeds this morning, at around 9am it went back to the usual decent speeds and I have been downloading a torrent at over 600k/sec:

And done a total of 13.73GB so far today.
 
Lol, I'm getting 30kb/s on my steam downloads 8Mbit "business uncapped", the things I want to say right about now would be rated R18. What a joke.
 
Okay so checking the speeds again, and they're shyte. AfriMan, any news yet on my case as per the PM's?

South down the ****ter once again, Afrihost at its finest. Log tests, never get called back, Critical Care dont even know about your issue, wait forever to get through to telephonic support, online support always offline, the list continues.

I see you also like bitcomet. Decent torrent client with the Long Term Seed function and the ability to function as a download manager too. :)

Yup. Been using it for years with no issues. BitComet + Peerblock = niceness.
Well......apart from the terrible AH speeds sometimes:D
 
So I thought I'd have one last ditch attempt at contacting support on client zone with the abovementioned issue, maybe they improved the support or something.

Here's their reply, took them 3 hours and 48 minutes to reply with this:

Your line seems to be syncing correctly I have reset your data account please reboot the
router and assess the connection speeds.

If this is congestion, what's the process of getting it investigated?
I'm not in the mood for the game of Telkom sending me to Afrihost and Afrihost sending me to Telkom.
I did submit a ticket last week but I still wanted to ask what's the process of getting it investigated and sorted...
 
Giving credit where its due ...

AH climbed into Telkom, after one of their id 10 Ts ''broke'' my line when trying to fix it.

Line sorted over a weekend (Sunday nogal) ... and I am back in the business lounge - so to speak.

Will monitor over period and feedback.
