Not at all, we used a number of users - you included - to monitor and test the changes that were being implemented. No result or traceroute supplied to us over the past two weeks has been wasted.

But I never got the call I was promised, not even an email, so sorry, you guys have dropped the ball big time. This is one big PR nightmare you AH. I am sure your network issues are well known in SA.

You should definitely start seeing an improvement on your account, especially with regards to streaming services such as Youtube. You may need to restart your modem to ensure that you are assigned to the correct resource policy group. If you don't see any improvement, please let me or one of the other AfriGeeks know immediately, as we may need to make changes to your actual account.

I restart my router and the speeds take a dive, and never seem to recover. What about Streaming from DSTV and Supersport??

I certainly hope to see improvements with DSTV and SuperSport streaming.

After the restart do the speeds come up again, or do they remain in the tank?

I will do a few tests later, I am currently at the local coffee shop using their free wifi, as my connection is so pathetic

Are you seeing local or international packet loss?

Would you mind posting a traceroute to a local and international site?
Trying to play League of Legends, so international. Local seems just fine (browsing).

@Afrigenie , is this normal for P2P? Or is this because of the contention?

It is definitely not normal, but things may still be a bit dicey in the East until we can roll out the changes made in the North and South.

You should start to see speeds increase across the board over the next hour or so. Your latency should also then drop.

I can also confirm that Youtube is working well. Videos play almost immediately, no buffering or dropped frames on 480p and the buffer runs ahead of the current position just fine. 720p30 is also good, though 720p60 only barely keeps up. As soon as I click a video, the line gets saturated to 1.8Mb/s within about 5 seconds. So far, the streaming updates look good, I'll evaluate Netflix later.

This is good, don't screw it up now.

Suffice to say, if anything, it's getting even worse here(2Mbps)...

It could be the download server, I was downloading a Nvidia driver about 4 hours ago, it was absolutely destroying my line, it took 2 min to open mybb because every byte was going towards that HTTP download.

Anyone here play Dota 2? the last couple of days my lag is really bad and i have packet loss as well. My ping is usually 50ms, but it's been 150-250ms the past couple of days. I'll check later today and see if its doing the same or not and report back.

P.S. all other games that i play is international and that is working fine.
