Yes please.
Around resetting the line - Telkoms system seemed to have changed the other day, I think our team are falling in line with the changes and updating the ClientZone accordingly.

Hi Afriguy.
Will the option to recreate the port be available again at some point or not?

Sorry my setting was changed to on not from me you must change this on my Account

Not sure I follow?
When we introduced the feature it was on by default when signing up or upgrading. If you need it disabled you can do so via the ClientZone.

Yes, slow speeds and disconnects... line remains in sync though... so not the line.

DNS lookups are also really slow....

Only affecting my business account.. capped seems fine.

@AfriGuy
Any luck on my ticket yet?
Seems I am not the only one with this issue... bdvtheone, who is in Pretoria (so I assume from signature) has confirmed the same issue.

Either there is a serious issue on your network that you guys are not aware of (AGAIN), or there is an issue with Telkom's IPC they have provided you with. Either way, this is another in a long line of problems I have had over the last 5 months with AH's so-called "premium, guaranteed, Business" account. Currently, international traffic is at 15% of full speed, and local is almost dead in the water.

ETA PLEEEEEEEEEAAAASSSSSSEEEEEE!

Our team will need to run more tests with you, I'm sure there will be something soon.

I just noticed a response from Support regarding my ticket:

Hi xxxxxxx,
I trust that you are well :)

I have recreated your port and stabilized your line.

Kindly restart your router.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if we may be of further assistance.

Warm Regards

Strange thing is, I have been sitting working on my PC for the last 3 hours and trying to download. When a port is recreated, it automatically resets the router, or causes the router to lose sync - this has not happened at all in the last hour. Also, I know for a fact that you cannot recreate the port if a PACE 921VNX is connected to the line - you will keep getting errors (this is from Telkom themselves, and I have noted this on many occasions when asking them to reset the port).

What gives????

Here are the results AFTER port reset and router reboot... nothing to write home about, in fact, speeds are slower now then before, and line is more unstable :(

Zertop's "Is it my Line" Results
Basic Report:

Your packet loss was 6 percent.
Your average ping was 68ms.
Your maximum ping was 74ms.

You seem to have some packet loss. This indicates an issue on the line.
Looking at your average ping, your line seems to be a bit dodgy. This may account for any slow speeds you may be experiencing. However, it could just be related to a high-latency home network (eg... Wi-Fi). If you feel the need, please post the results (at the end of the program) into the forum for advice

We are seeing massive ADSL authentication and connection issues in the Cape at the moment, it looks like the Belville Telkom facility is completely down. Could you please send me your ADSL line number so that I can look into this for you.

Not sure I follow?
When we introduced the feature it was on by default when signing up or upgrading. If you need it disabled you can do so via the ClientZone.

I checked this 2 weeks ago and it was disabled

@AfriGuy are you playing dumb? My issue was exactly the same, and I confirmed to you that I didn't change it myself.

Looks like you have an issue here regarding client settings changing against their will.

Keep me posted :)

Internet gave a few problems. When I got home P2P ran on 2 kb/s
Now on 35kb/s
Busy downloading an iPhone update. Speed is a bit better than mweb speeds.
So will wait till you find the problem or traffic shaper screwing things over.

How is your international throughput at the moment? Are you seeing any reductions in speed there?

Right so my issue with the billing that I thought was fixed that I asked both on this forum and a support ticket to be resolved. Clearly **** all has been done because I've just been debited prorata for a 75GB capped account that's supposed to be active from next month and a 4Mb Business Uncapped THAT I'VE ALREADY PAID FOR.

What I did was:
1) downgrade to a 50GB account
2) change it up to a 75GB because 50GB wasn't enough
3) mistakenly thought it was an immediate downgrade
4) change back to 4MB Business Uncapped
5) realise my error and change to a 75GB capped account that activates 1 Jan
6) sign up for a mobile 500

I have been charged this month for 2 4MB uncapped and a 75GB capped!? Please could you reverse this immediately. I should only be charged for the 4Mb Business Uncapped Bundle and the Mobile 500.

I realise I was fiddling a bit and confused the systems but I specifically requested this didn't happen.

No I don't want a credit, I want that money back in my bank account immediately. I actually need that cash to survive on.

Jip have problems again.
Afriguy, please tell us the truth. Business accounts are being shaped. Please check your systems. I must look out of my clients and you are not the best ISP any more. My clients are not happy, so at the end of the day I am loosing money! You are driving my clients away from the company I work for. And know what, you are taking food from my table. We are here to provide a service. My clients look to me for knowledge, and thanks to you guys their trust in my opinion took one big effing hit. So much that they are starting to look for another support company.

Why because we told them that AH gives great service. They moved their hosting and Internet to you. And now you are playing around? How is this a good practice?

And know what. Seeing that my clients can't even skype me because of disconnections during the day? Know how that makes me feel?

I have to give sound advice and the only advice I can give my clients from now on, is to dump AH.
And yes it is sad, but guys, you are like the ANC. You will blame everything from Telkom to Netgear or the stupid users. And Yes it was great to see the CEO send a mail to us all telling us what went wrong, but that problem is in the past.

Yes, your systems shows no problems, but what does your ticket system say? Is there a problem? Simple Yes or No would do. Just take into account that loads of people complain about shaping on a business account. Then there must be something screwed up...

Good luck and I hope that you will resolve this problems you have on your network.
Regards
