Nothing has changed on my systems either, we use OpenDNS, and have been for many years. Speed test shows decent speeds but browsing seems sluggish.

That's very strange, we have been getting quite a few reports of issues from Cape Town users over the past few days, and I wonder if this isn't maybe somehow related to Telkom switching many Exchanges over to their new Broadband Network Gateways.

If you notice it again, could you perhaps run a traceroute to the site, it may if we can see if it maybe the routing on our side, or possibly something else.

at the moment browsing is terrible

Would it be possible for you to post a traceroute to one of the sites that is loading slowly?

If not, can you please send me a PM with your account details so that I can investigate.

Downloading some linux distros/trinity rescue kit, 1MB/s for the last 2 hours, avg. of 997kB/s. My line is 10Mbit.

Hope it keeps :D

EDIT: Sorry, wrong thread, on capped.

Please take a moment to ask or answer a question or two on Answers

Some awesome data prizes to be won. If all goes well, this could be a regular thing, so please help us make it awesome :)

Well, it's been a fun year with you guys, but I'd like to sail some calmer seas, at least until I can be sure this product is for me again.

All the best to the Afrimen and women, you guys take a lot of flak for issues that aren't your doing and you weather fierce virtual storms, always coming back for more.

I can't say that the MTN purchase made me happy at all, but I hope it works out for you.

Cheers.

Seems Afrihost have now started billing me for Simfy even though I cancelled my plus during the trial end of last year.

Your billing always has issues

Your billing always has issues

When you cancel Afrihost Plus+, there is an option to retain your Simfy access. If that box is ticked (it should be unticked by default) then we keep Simfy active and bill you R60 per month.

You can cancel Simfy in ClientZone using the Other Services > Simfy option

So sad to read this first thing in the morning.

I really appreciate your good wishes, but I am hoping that it's maybe not too late to keep you with us. If you check out the thread of late, I think the network is running as smoothly as ever and we're really seeing great (and stable) DSL performance right now.

Would love to chat to you about this before you make any decisions. Please drop me a PM either way :(

There are only two more days of Answers week!

We'll be upping the data giveaways to 250GB today and tomorrow, so get asking (and answering)!

And there's still that awesome Powerbank/3G MiFi up for grabs :)

Yup. It was all cancelled in December, like I said I never got billed for it in January. Yet now I am magically getting billed for it for February.

Do not assume that all your users can't read.

It's possibly because the cancellation period for Afrihost Plus+ was in January. I can't really give you a proper answer unless you give me your account details to follow up. You're welcome to PM and I'm sure it can be fixed.

I am having the same problem. They have billed me for this Once Again. Sent through another support request.

If you don't mind, could you send me a PM with the Ticket ID, so that I can get the credit assigned to your account ASAP.

Hi, I am wondering, what exactly is the difference between a business bundle and capped bundle? Both are at the same speed, but one is uncapped, yet cheaper... Are response times better or something with capped?

The Capped Bundles only really start being the same price as the Business Uncapped Bundles if you start looking at the 200GB+ Capped Bundles, at the sort of usage level, the Business Uncapped accounts do probably become more economical.

The biggest difference between the Capped and Business Uncapped Bundles, is that the Business Uncapped Bundles have access to Static IP addresses, which the Capped accounts do not.

So the bandwidth is identical (other than the "up to 40mbps")? Why would anyone go for capped then if business has a static IP, too? Just for the multiple concurrent connections?
