AH have reset the port and hopefully this will do the trick. They said it was port errors.

With regards to P2P, I added a small 135MB torrent and it sat at 0.0% done at 0KB/s for an hour and a half. Only then it started to download.

What sort of speeds are you getting on that download at the moment?

Looking at the pattern, it definitely appears deliberate, but I can assure you it isn't. We see a massive drop-off in demand in the South round about that time, consistently each night. We're taking steps from our side to minimize the impact of this and make sure your service is going to be more consistent.

Is it possible that this can be related to the operating hours of a major bandwidth user in my vicinity, like a business or a school?

Where is your support? I haven't heard a peep out of them in 2 days, firstly I had no Internet over the entire easter weekend, then finally had it fixed by Tuesday just to have the same regular disconnect issue, then on Wednesday I requested to be upgraded to vdsl, this was meant to take at most 48hours, here I am on a friday with no Internet and no hope in sight, your support does not respond to any queries regarding my upgrade, are they on holiday? I ask again how is this a premium service?

I can't see your second hop but there is definitely a difference in the results. My monitoring shows that latency in the North is stable, and my own tests at home seem to show the same. I have highlighted a few issues of concern on the traceroute you sent in, which seems to say there is some intermittency on the line, but it seems a lot milder on the second trace than with us.

We'll need to trouble shoot more on this. It could be that there is a latency issue which gets better when you reset your line to change accounts, and then degrades, I've seen this a few times. We'll have to test with you to determine this.

Seems better today. Will keep an eye on it.

Over the past few weeks the Telkom Wholesale system has been processing ADSL line regrades significantly slower than in the past. If you send me a PM with your Ticket Reference or ADSL line number I will follow-up from my side.

Is the "Fix line" tool gone from the client zone?

Telkom recently migrated to the new DSMS, which basically replaces all of the tools ISPs had available for ADSL line management with a new automated system, which is supposed to monitor your ADSL line and adjust your ADSL line sync.

This does now mean however, that our Fix my Line tool no longer functions as we do not have access to that functionality which allowed it to work.

:(

That just looks like it is getting worse.

From which one of your ADSL lines are you running this traceroute?

So to me, just reading back on all the Afrihost threads around, the MTN network is poked?

So many people having problems with latency, Packet Loss & Speed.... (Myself included)

We seem to just get generic answers, even when getting Ref Numbers from Afrihost nothing gets done (Sounds like Telkom)

I can't believe how the service levels have dropped at Afrihost, it is quite disheartening as Afrihost DSL accounts used to be the best around, now they are the worst (in my opinion).

Since November 2014 everything has gone pear shaped, Where is Gain in all this?
Is he even aware that the Network is performing so terribly?

Poor Poor show Afrihost!
