Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback - 2

Stop trying to tell people what is and isn't acceptable on this forum. We have mods for that. Isn't it ironic that we must pay full fees for half(if not less) the service and then you(Afrihost) still want to tell us what is and isn't acceptable on a public forum? Fix that, then come back and moan about our attitudes.

So what is the ETA on this upgrade?... you asking a lot to expect all your clients to keep paying with no indication of a resolution date. Amazing as well how there has been no official communication from your management about the issues? Normal companies issue outage reports etc. Instead all we have been greeted by is the confusion that reigns on your support desks and largely empty promises on forums.

I don't have the official date, but what I take from it being imminent (as per our management) is that it could go live at any time if Telkom come on board. From the previous times, I sometimes only get the confirmation at the last minute or sometimes even afterwards cos Telkom don't give too much advanced notice :(

Not at all. Complaining achieves nothing. People in SA are far too accepting of bad service. Sometimes they need a kick up the bum.

The only way companies learn is when something starts to affect their revenue.

Remember this isn't the first time that Afrihost has failed to plan properly.

Trick me once shame on you. Trick me twice shame on me.

The last time which I checked this is an open forum where forum member give advice to each other . Why giving advice in a situation where it seem that the supplier and his customers are living in a diffrent universes is a problem ?. You are just trying to shut up criticism which is understandable as a commercial entity .

Just like your constant question dodging on "tough" issues is not actually helping the forum grow or deliver value. Instead another rep is appointed to spew the same copy and paste nonsense to your customers?

Let us have our opinion. If you don't like it, say so, or ignore it.

Just bear in mind the mod note:

Mod_note: These threads are clearly designed/intended for customers to provide feedback to their respective ISPs - not for disgruntled former customers to vent, not for other ISPs to promote their services, etc - and, one hopes, for the relevant ISP to respond.

Give us your feedback, and we'll assist or provide information. Trying to get other people to cancel or change their attitude towards the company to serve your own purpose is not part of what the forum is about.

If you've given your opinion, I don't think repeating it constantly on other people's posts adds value to the forum.

Till the end of the month, most of these commenting are still your customers. BTW, could you please reply to my PM? Thanks.

If you are still a client (using this specific Business product), then please do give us your feedback for comment or for assistance.

Will get to your PM as quickly as I can :)

I see you added the spinning part in. You ask us questions, we give you answers. If you don't like the answers I apologise, but that is the reality. But for us to take part in the thread (which is ultimately MyBB's rules) then we have to stick to the forum rules. If I've broken a forum rule, I'll definitely be accountable to the forum mods.

It is a good idea to ask the members and the mods . Who thinks that you are spinning ?.

You are most welcome to use the report button to report a post I have made and the mods can give you their ruling.

Again, we're here to talk about the product and services specific to this thread.

For the record, I'm still a customer till the end of the month... disgruntled yes, but not a disgruntled former customer.

Please answer to the question on compensation for poor service. Ok wait, let me ask it again...

How is Afrihost going to compensate it's uncapped business adsl account holders for the loss of man hours caused by it's degraded services and failure to notify customers of the current issues?

Once we've upgraded our network and are satisfied that performance is where it should be, we'll assess the impact on the overall network. We've usually made up for poor experiences with mystery bonuses or promotions. I think it's also important to remember that adding more capacity comes at a pretty hefty cost to us, and we do not pass that additional cost onto our clients.

Really, no offense, but mystery bonuses and promotions normally require customers to fork out money. So that can't really be seen as a way of making up for charging clients full price when you KNOW service is nowhere near that? And how is the hefty cost to you for additional capacity even remotely a paying customers problem? Why would you even mention that?

Shame on you . How do you demand bandwidth which you paid for . Don't you know that it costs Afrihost a lot of money .:D

The point I am making is that we are absorbing these considerable costs to bring performance up, despite that growth in demand is not in line with growth in client base or number of clients.
