Its not speed thats the problem with my line, the freaking ping is so bad.

Latency isn't looking cool at all here :(
It's a bit hard to say off the bat, but I think the higher latency is being introduced at your exchange. Have you tried a different ISP to see if the results are the same?

What I need is my speed fixed, if this means I have to talk to someone so be it. I don't want someone asking for more tests, I have submitted what I was told to do, now its up to Afrihost to pull the finger out.

I'm afraid tests are par for the course.

Has there been a reply to this? I have looked through all the posts but cannot find anything. The explanation for this would be most interesting!

Nope... nothing. It was just passed over and nothing was said about it.
Funny how the guys have been dealing with this exact issue the whole day today, and we are still being fed the "congestion" excuse.

Seems more likely that AH's network management / management software is to blame here. It appears that all the latency spikes / slow-downs and bottlenecks for the accounts are specifically on AH's side AFTER authentication, and then onto the MTN network.

I find it really hard to believe that after countless traces and speed tests on AH, and other ISP accounts, that we are still being told "there is nothing wrong on our side, it must be your line, or congested exchange"....

....more like, "the new upgrades were ONCE AGAIN not enough, our network is way over-sold, and we are still optimising bandwidth to give the best all-round experience for all our clients" - AFRIHOST STOCK STANDARD SIDE-STEP AND SPIN.

I dont have another ISP to check with unfortunately.

I dont have another ISP to check with unfortunately.

That's a good thing, but I think for the sake of testing it may be worth having a test account with a different ISP. I think a few of them have similar free accounts to what we have.

But that's all I ever do, and nothing improves, and my issues never get solved? So here we go again, nothing gets resolved.

I'm sorry you feel that way, I'm confident that our team can have fixed up for you though.
I know you've been posting a lot, I can assure you we're going through a lot of resources to make everyone, including yourself, happy.

Well I am sorry, I do not see the result of these resources you are using, look at this:

How can the ping be so bad, this is cape town to cape town, look at the speed?

Again, I do understand where you're coming from.
I'll have a dig through my PMs and have your details escalated.

Thanks, but surely this should have been escalated long ago. What's the reason to send PM;'s if they stay in an inbox?

They don't, it was escalated when I said it was - pending feedback.
What I'm doing now is having someone get in touch with you to explain, in detail, what's being done on your account.

I think those that are using test accounts, maybe start using the Axxess free account as part of your tests. And the WebAfrica free account.

You'd be able to get a clear picture of MTN with AH, MTH with Axxess, and IS.

I cant play jack, so much stuttering, even on local servers!!!!!1one

heroes of the storm is a slide show atm, got aping to google running on other screen. Frequent spikes to 500 odd :( Gonna test WA account now.

Ok so things are not looking good at the moment. I think it is time to start looking elsewhere. I cannot deal with this any longer. It has been good, but enough is enough..

Same route, same IP's on MTN Network...
Axxess account pretty FLAWLESS...
Afrihost account spiking all over the place.

Tell me again that my exchange is congested!

and NO... it is not an isolated case.
and NO... it is not just my area. There are similar experiences all over the country.
and NO... it is not my account, as all my clients that I moved to Afrihost are now on MY case because they cannot conduct business.

AND YES... the problem IS on Afrihost's side (look above).
AND YES... it is definitely repeatable.
AND YES... it is definitely Afrihost's Network Management Software.
AND YES... Afrihost has no idea what they are doing, or how to run a network, or how to deliver service to ALL clients, and not just the ones that are NOT complaining here.

I have posted similar results and comments since yesterday. Till now, not one of them has been acknowledged, commented on, or even remotely addressed, or answered.

I suppose it's difficult to argue with FACT :erm:
