Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback - 2

I can't blame you, and I fully understand the level of annoyance you're on.
My previous place had really bad congestion, and I hate to tell you this, but this is something that's entirely up to Telkom and their DSLAM upgrade crews to plan and implement.

These upgrades are usually scheduled in quarterly batches, but obviously the areas differ.

I know it's not what you want to hear, and I truly wish there was something more we could do as a business.

There's something wrong with your router, should be in the 1's.

Looks like a lot of packet loss. How's it with another ISP?

What 's your line stats?

If I was you, I would go online to telkom.co.za and log a fault, and not bother going through your isp, it's quicker that way.

Sure - maybe its best although I PAY AFRIFRIKKENHOST to do this.

Last weekend, Telkom ''fixed'' the line because AH claimed the line was a problem. Then I had NO connection. Telkom reconnected me, now AH are claiming its something else. I have already told them I believe this to be a Telkom issue.

Afrihost ... ITS BEEN K@K SINCE YOU RECONNECTED ME LAST WEEKEND

I am so frikken frustrated with AH at this point.

Edit, just posting here is more difficult than dealing with Telkom - its that bad.

Which is why I don't bother letting ISP's "manage" my line, coz all they do is "manage" to push one's blood pressure up.

Telkom isn't bad like everybody thinks. I never phone 10210 (I have high blood pressure), and always log a fault online, I get a SMS with a ref number and a techie ends up phoning me.

I heard leaving the phone off the hook helps noise on the line, also changing to G.dmt mode instead of adsl2+ (if you have 4mb)

I have had good experiences with telkom recently...if i log a fault today, I will get reference number the same day and a telkom technician will come through the next day....that has been my experience so far with them....

Why is rapidgator.net inaccessible via afrihost all of a sudden? The site is definitely up because I can connect through other accounts?

Afriman when i reboot my router why is the DNS servers 196.43.46.190, 196.43.42.190 and not 196.7.7.7 and 196.7.8.9.

If I dont manually change it barely loads images.

Looks like a telkom dns, are you sure your account details are saved and that you're not logging into a telkom account or something when you reboot modem?

EDIT: What backbone shows on speedtest.net?

If the login details are AH, then its AH.

So, I had the most interesting afternoon.

Telkom pitched up at the house.

On the Telkom account 3.5Mbps, 34ms ping

Change to AH - down to 1,8 Mbps 72ms ping

Dude ran line tests - showed me the line is good.

Then we did the Telkom vs AH thing again ....

His advice - Talk to your ISP.....

But you could have tested a Telkom guest account or free capped account for another ISP. Why did Telkom need to come around?
