Wonder how Afrihost would feel if I short-paid for this weekend? Oh wait it's a "best effort service" honestly don't think I want to stick around for much longer here since we will get the same schpiel tomorrow, sorry guys there was a Telkom / emptyN / random other party's fault and we worked really hard at fixing it.

Incidentally it can't be a big enough problem for it to be noted on their site as fokall has changed on it :(

The latency problem is my biggest concern, with internet solutions I get 8ms local with Mweb 10ms local and Afrihost 35 to 42ms local. Speeds are a tad down at the moment, but I can live with that.

Something I have noticed since Friday, when you guys are saying your internet is unusable, my speeds are the best they have been in weeks. On the flipside, when you guys have said there has been some improvement, then my speeds have slowed down. Like right now, my speeds are awesome for a change.

Durban seems ****ed

:D:D:D

PS - It took me a while to post this comment ,,, so my desire to troll is pretty high too.

and even when there is support, all you get asked to do is run the same tests and never a fix.
^ This. I just gave up.

Using CW backup now. At least I could watch IEM/ESL with CW, AH could not handle twitch on "Mobile" ...

Who has been stealing mah bit of the interents :(

I seem to be limited to 1.5Mb speeds.... I have had high latency on Cape Town servers since the last IPC debacle. Used to be 9ms, then over 6 month period went to 12ms, and now it is anything from 40ms to 250ms. Strangely, the latency on JHB and international links was unaffected till this past week, where now everything has turned to crap (YET AGAIN) :(

EDIT: from my tests, the only accounts that seem unaffected are MWEB and Telkom. All my other ISP accounts (WA/VOX/FNB/etc) are struggling a bit too. Cmon AH, tell me it's my exchange again... cmon, I dare ya! :p

What I find rather baffling though is how on earth does it take 3 days to investigate with no sign of resolution or cause?!

Still seeing horrific performance here, latency is very inconsistent. Ready to pack it in and move on. I gave them the benefit of the doubt last time, but the silence is deafening.. surely Afrihost could get someone to work on the weekend's??

So this company sells a majority share to MTN for R500 million plus - but cannot afford to put a handful of staff to monitor the network after hours with regular updates.
It's users must sit it out over the weekend till Monday morning - while the network status indicate "everything is running like a bomb" .
Then on Mon morning Afri Reps will just say "sorry" and come with another spin story.
Why do we put up with this ?

Internet is still rubbish for me. Can't stream anything high quality because my speed is fluctuating between 1.5 and 3Mbps (8Mbit account).

Never thought of it that way before - but yes, makes sense.

Hope the day shift sort this problem out expeditiously, <--------------- means screw the niceties just fix it.
