Afrihost. We are still struggling here in CapeTown... Using Telkom ISP is perfect... no latency's..

Switch to Afrihost account , is like disconnecting my adsl line. (website struggle to load, torrents go down to 1kb per second and unable to do gaming at all) .

Please reply what is happening and when the ETA is to get it fixed ...

This must be a big f-up, if they don't even want to talk about it. I wonder if Mybroadband can make some calls. I am sure that will get their attention.

Sent in a text to support. Got a call back from them. Assuming it's the normal call centre staff.

Told me that they haven't been informed about what the problem actually is but it is a major problem and technicians are on site attending to it.

Also told them to put up a progress update on the website so that clients know exactly what's going on.

Thanks mate, there is no way I was going to hold for ~40min good to see that you managed to get a call back.

I still think if they are aware that there is a large problem even not knowing the exact cause should elicit a response on their site, I think that in and of itself would cut the number of calls since there "Is a problem and we will update with more details shortly"

Yeah. Hopefully they do post an update soon. Lot of people are very angry already.

Exactly. The biggest problem for them now is that they are not communicating. If you are not taking to your customers they find someone else to listen to.

I give two hoots for WHAT the the issue is and WHO is responsible. I am more interested in Afriperson saying, that the issue in the East (coast) is resolved and you can resume normal internet function.

If this is a business account then I would hate to know what you get oh a standard account ......

So high latency and packet loss problems in the east, the south is totally buggered.... only the north seems to be sort of ok?
Come on Afrihost, surely we could get an update?

I'm in JHB and mine is messed up too. Ridiculously frustrating.

Unable to do any work now too because of this.

i'm thinking ISP's do this on purpose... then they don't have to "shed" those bandwidth.

Basically almost no people downloading for the past 2-3 days.. (that must be a massive data saving for them, and yet we still pay the same)

Upload Speed: 492 kbps (61.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 168 ms

Downloads are hitting 800kb/s at the moment, I'm holding thumbs that it stays this way and its not because the network is quiet.

Speak of the devil :mad: It's almost like my connection gets overloaded and then drops, why can't I have nice things :crying: Also I haven't heard any response from telkom or Afrihost on what is being done to fix my line, all I got was a reference number from telkom and no further communication from either.

This is bull**** downgraded to a capped account with 10mbps line which still hasn't gone back up to 10mbps, it just stays at 8, now im getting WORSE download speeds, but at least my pings are much better?

Why can't my line go back to the way it was for more than 2 years, it was perfectly synced fine at 10.

Business uncapped or Home uncapped or Capped, looks like they all the same to me. SH*T!!
