Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback - Part 3

I guess the proof is in the pudding :)
Lots of work is being done behind the scenes here.

The proof is indeed in the pudding and the the network performance remains, at best, dismal after months of promises of thing getting better "soon" and the team working day and night to "tweak", "optimize" and "fine tune" the network. All that has happened is that there are now two dysfunctional networks and the standard response to appalling performance is now "have you tried (the other) network. I guess this is progress from "what DNS settings are you using" or "can you post some tests".

All people want to know is when they will get what they are paying for? Soon is not an answer!

A date is what they want.

Have you been able to test Afrigreen yet?

No. and I have no intention of using an untested network that from the numerous posts on these forum is no better or in many cases worse than the dysfunctional network that you are currently charging full price for. All I want is a functional network. Can you assure me without any reservations or "spin" that the Afrigreen network is now fully functional and performing on a par with other ISP's offerings. I would also like your explanation as to why the performance of the standard network is so poor.

We've seen some really good feedback there, and as the days go on the more stable the network gets.
I really think it can't hurt giving it a shot :)

I am indeed interested to know which of the posts on this page are positive? Please quote one.

http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...ped-ADSL-Feedback-(MTN)-New-beginning/page265

Is it this:-
"Speeds are really poor today. Can't even get a tenth of my line speed."

Or this:-
"Another ISP is running a special I could not resist, 10Mbps uncapped package for R349.00
Everyone at home is in bliss, the Internet is fast and Mom can play her Facebook games finally"

Or this:-
"Bought a couple of gigs to see if anything had improved, answer is a resounding no.
20Mbps line - http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/4556317281"

Is that the positive feedback that you are referring to? All posted today.

I'm referring to this thread http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/712920-Afrihost-POC-Network-Afrigreen-Feedback

Oh apologies. These must be the posts that you are referring to:-

"Any news on when the Twitch issue will be sorted out??? I am tired of watching a little spinning circle in the middle of my screen. It is buffering like you cannot believe"

or

"Facebook is lagging on AfriGreen, everything else seems fine."

or

"What the is going on with Afrihost networks? both the green and the normal account running erratic:"

or

" the people sticking around to test Afrihost network for them, do they pay you for this. Oh wait, you are paying them"

or

"DC++ is dead, cant connect to anything."

or

"Guys please you are killing me! http://puu.sh/jq8mB/9a7af3f6f7.png"

or

"My regular account's latency is at 160ms.
I tried the Afrigreen account and it has only gotten worse.
http://puu.sh/jqaeM/00d23b0727.png"

or

"I'm in the long forgotten land of CPT I'm joking about it now but AH has always treated CPT as less important, I'm really happy that I downgraded my package before all of the testing started. I would not be able to justify paying as much as I did while only using half of the allocated cap."

or

"vimeo is unusable at the moment. Skype is also sporadically horrible especially to people with neotel as isp.
Tracing route to vimeo.com [23.235.37.217]
over a maximum of 30 hops: "

or

"Hey Afriguy,

Sent through a feedback report WRT poor performance to my Minecraft server about a week ago, the experience has gotten markedly worse so I have submitted another.

Could you see if anyone could look at it this time?"

or

"Really slow loading on www.mysaltyreef.com"

To be fair however there was one positive comment among all of those posts:-

"My downloads are flying on this new network, its not just "improved", i think its much better than it used to be, Youtube 1080p is streaming excellently and web browsing appears much more responsive. keep it up guys, you have really turned this around for the better"

The negative replies are of concern as they far outnumber the positive.

I'm not really sure where this is going? I think it's a bit silly for me to go through that thread and pick up on the positive mentions...
Happy to give you details to Afrigreen to test yourself, I think that'll give you the best idea.

No need to go through that thread to pick out the positive responses. I already did that for you and what I posted was all the relevant posts from the last four pages and to be fair I included the ONLY positive post along with the negative ones.

I am more than happy to do some testing of your Afrigreen network if you provide me with the logon details. This would need to be as a "test account" as I have paused my 10M business account until such time as you appear to have a functional network again and would not be prepared to unpause it in order to pay you to test your network.

You're more than welcome to PM me your details, I'll see if I can arrange an account for you. The system does look at whether or not accounts are active though - let's see what can be done though.

@AfriGuy - You guys keep punting this AfriGreen network... what about the normal AH network? Have you guys decided your paying customers are no longer worth your time and efforts?

We're definitely not ignoring our current network, our Team is working hard to maintain it until we are ready to start moving our Clientbase to the PoC network.
