Same daytime "go-slooooow" problem here

I have the same problem - crawling dring the day (less than 1Meg speed) on a 10Meg business account:mad:
From late afternoon onwards I get my full 10M.
I have rebooted my modem, have had the port reconstructed by Telkom, and no, Afrihost, its not my line or my exchange, I have tried with various guest accounts from various providers and they all give me full speed during the day.

My speed this morning (and has been so for the last 2 weeks) is sitting on 40k!!!!!!
Browsing seems to be reasonably fast, but forget about downloading anything - its like I'm being throttled on this business account.

I have checked that my Protocol Prioritisation is off.

I am in the Bordeaux Randburg area.

Come on, Afrihost, please sort this out.
Afriman, please help with this.

OK, I have tested it now with Imaginet: full speed, 400KB/s +
And with Web Africa: Full speed: 400KB/s +

Line syncs at 4Mbps, uncapped business package is 2Mbps, but, between 8am and 5pm, it slooooows down to about 250kbps.

And this is bad, very bad. It is like throttling, because EVERYTHING slows down during business hours.

Yup. The irony of shaping a business account only during business hours >.<

I have only used 30GB this month so far.

At R1k a month should I rather buy 100GB capped unshaped data from another ISP?

Yeah, I'm about to give notice as well... I've seen glimpsed of the utopia these accounts offer but not often enough considering the premium price tag.

I'm not prepared to trouble shoot either. These things must work out the box.

Waiting for a Cybersmart business account to be activated. That's what I use at home and it's chalk and cheese...

I love Afrihost, the company, the people, their capped offerings are superb, they're innovative and competitive and they business partners with probably the least service orientated company in the Southern Hemisphere, MTN.

Forumites speculated that partnering with MTN would be a mistake and although Afrihost will never admit it, I'm convinced that's their weakest link.

If we keep it up at this rate, we might end up on the landing page as a headline on the My broadband web page :)

Seems this is not an isolated case, and the other services are working 100% like Web Africa and Imaginet, so it is not a line issue here. I am sure Afrihost will sort it out, whatever it is, so I'll just wait it out, like a storm passing.
