Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback

You had a 2Mbps line, but telkom upgraded it to 4mbps (therefore your cost is the same). You would just need to drop the line to 2Mbps to save the R100.

If you want 4Mbps, you will have to pay for 4Mbps data - just check the bundle pricing on the site :)

Make sense..kinda. Look I'm getting decent speeds with my 4mb line and 2mb data, so I have no reason to upgrade my data to 4mb just yet. I was just wondering if I could have the former combination and save a R100 in the process.

Is it possible for an ISP to have some sort of hardware that interrupts its customers connections every few minutes in order to disrupt downloads. I feel like Afrihost is doing that. I can't pull anything without it stopping after a few minutes then I have to resume. HTTP downloads and downloading games to my PS Vita are a problem.

Any line issues that you know of? My connection is perfect at the moment?

Try live chat on the site, they are really helpful with this kind of stuff

I've tried live chat twice, with the green icon showing they are there. After a few minutes it just closes and tells me that they aren't available.

First run died, I've given my entire system a re-boot and lets see what it does then but I saw a 100kbps ceiling on the download after I tried something and that looked like throttling.

Looking at your tools results, it seems the local is going international via their routing.

First one looked to be exchange - but it could be something with your router due to the fact that it rectified itself after a reboot, which isn't really normal. It looks fine for now, but if it pops up again - take note of the time and see if it's during peak times - which points to congestion

And @AfriPeople
It's been happening more often lately that the latency just shoots through the roof and speeds suffer.
Sometimes after restarting the router it's better but sometimes not.
