Accounting packets?

Accounting packets are basically the data we receive from Telkom about how much data you've moved. Usually arrives at the end of the session, or at regular intervals during a session. Sometimes we don't get them as we should, and then they suddenly arrive in a huge chunk :(

I also experienced really really bad performance tonight right across the board I'd never had lag clicking a button in hearthstone before, Skype was really shocking the quality got dropped to lowest and still stuttering, browsing poor too. It's a lot better now so unfortunately I could not run the test tool but as of time of posting.

I am in Durban.

The timeouts would indicate packet loss on the line - so that's pretty bad for realtime stuff like skype or streaming.

Must have been worse last night, I'm guessing :(

I am busy transferring my line to you guys would you be able to tell if its congestion once thats done ? Though I see another thread about poor latency's last night with afrihost so something must have happened.

Sorry that you're having a poor experience :(

Could you run our Network Test App and send us the results or PM them to me?

Seems like it is congestion at my exchange, did do a port recreate via the ClientZone, is marginally better now. But oh well, what can you do. Telkom upgraded everyone in my area without bothering to check the exchange first. I will start phoning them everyday in my spare time.

We are located in Craighall Park and the service has been abysmal for the last 2-3 weeks, and we run a Guest House business that needs internet and Afrihost are supposed to manage the telkom line.......or so they say...... We have spent numerous hours trying to get through and have done so many tracert and speed tests it is ridiculous. Personally we would not recommend their service to anyone.

The ping tests are about 2400 on average and a speed of about 0.4mbs DL and the same for UL.

The worst thing is they say they will sort it out and nothing happens. Plus when you try and get hold of them it is " you are number 20 in line and it will take about 30 min before you get a representative" and when you do get hold of them, they ask for you to do another Tracert and speed test.

Come on guys....get your act together ... you are worse than Telkom. To resolve the Afrihost bad service we are now having to use Telkom 3g.

The last time we tried to talk to them, at 13:45 , and asked to speak to a supervisor, we got put on hold and that was that. They have our phone number and do not even bother to get back to us.

The last ticket number is VYG-965-78498

If you run our Network Test App, we could already make some analysis of your test results :(

Port recreate resyncs your line and kinda re-jumbles the lay of the land so everyone's lines resettle into congestion. Sometimes gets better - sometimes gets worse :(

Saw you posted this on the Uncapped thread as well. Replied to you there and on your PM :)

Not to my satisfaction though. I am looking for a bit more action from Afrihost to resolve this.

To be honest I'm not sure what more we can do. We don't have the ability to go onsite and inspect Telkom equipment so we need to rely on them to tell us what is happening with the exchange :(

Well my experience has been real sh*t lately.. I haven't been able to watch a non buffering youtube video on 360p, listen to itunes radio or soundcloud for the last week or two. As if there is literally no throughput. Kinda a bummer on a business account. I'm not impressed.
