I'll do that next time, I did a quick check last night, it spiked from the 5th hop.

Was it always the 5th hop?

Sometimes when latency is jumping, it shows up randomly all on the hops. I like to do a continuous ping to the 2nd hop (ping -t) to see if that's stable.
 
Been with Afrihost since the start of the month after moving from Openweb. So far I'm very impressed - getting full line speed all day every day so far (except the first day where had some minor issues).

Well done!

Been on their 6Mb for the 2nd month and ... WOW you guys rock thanks alot Afrihost, How a ISP should be - modern, responsive website, uber-awesome client zone with usage stats for us techies and a reliable network. Bragging right for sure!!

Right. So after waiting an entire week for your company to respond to a ticket... I will be looking for a new ISP now. Your customer support is pathetic - it is inexcusable for a company like AfriHost to not even acknowledge a ticket after 5 days, never mind spending the 5 minutes it would take to resolve it.

Being short staffed isn't an excuse either - you can't tell me that EVERY SINGLE CUSTOMER that logged a ticket at Afrihost, waits 5+ days to get a response. Clearly, your staff is being selective in terms of what tickets it does, and what tickets it doesn't deal with. I am not going to BEG you for support. Neither by calling you, nor on here at myBB. There's proper channels and processes in place for dealing with support queries, and your processes are CLEARLY not working... Sad day indeed, as I have been a vivid supporter of Afrihost for a rather long time.

Sorry to say man, but that is definitely a line fault :-( you'll have to report it to Telkom/Afrihost

i also noticed that its not accurate...pings come back sometimes not response when i am browsing the net at the same time XD

Not only when browsing, when nothing else is running too.
