There is no network notice because there are no faults on our network.

Really? So a fifth of the usual speed and 58% packet loss is not a fault? And you can look back in this thread. It is not just me with this problem in the Southern region. I try another account (WebAfrica) and it is full speed and no packet loss. Explain that to me.

This kind of latency definitely isn't normal, have we had a fault logged for you?

Are you a bot?

The latency is on my Telkom account, I am considering changing to you guys.

I sent you a PM yesterday with some questions, but I have not received a response yet.

My bad, it's been a busy day!
I still need to run through a few PM's - I should reply to yours sometime tonight. Do you know where the latency is being introduced at all?

I have already provided this information via PM to Afrigirl. The problem is glaring. Look at the pathpings (corroborated by others) which identify where on the MTN network the actual problem exists. What is needed now is some action on Afrihost's part to resolve it.

Thanks, I'll follow up with AfriGirl to review the results.

Is there any ISP not having problems ??

Hope i'm not making a mistake joining AH

I'm sure you haven't. Granted we it's not smooth sailing at the moment, but Gian and the team always come out the other end being awesome - that's something that'll never change :)

Well I currently don't really have an ISP. Using a capped account for a few weeks now that I won. I have been reading this section of the forum for the last few months trying to make a decision on an ISP. I was actually about to sign up to an Axxess business account as they use the same backbone as Afrihost but R100 cheaper. After the issues the last few days though I have changed my mind.

From what I've seen IS is the best backbone, this is taking things like Twitch and Netflix into account. I've decided on this:

Hope it helps.

I didn't think of them either till I started looking for a proper IS based account. Most of the ISPs shape their IS accounts to hell and back and why the IS backbone has a bad rep when it's the ISPs.

tl/dr

Besides that WA account the only other proper IS based account I could find was Original GOLD from Openweb:

Let us know how the WA biz uncapped goes. Also interested in its performance! :)

Why not MWEB? Best in my experience after hopping from MWEB to OW to AH, snappier than AH biz, not simply resellers. So glad to be back, but yes I am limited to 200GB per 30 days (100GB per 1Mbps), which is fine as I do around 120GB per month.

FYI. Speeds seem to have improved in the past hour. Almost back to what I have come to expect. Hope it lasts.

Very strange, we aren't seeing any changes in our network from what I can see.
I'll keep the time in mind when reviewing your data.

What are you limited to on 10MB?
