Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback

Yes, AH don't deserve their customers as they have no common courtesy. I asked them in the CAPPED thread why they can't post up a notice like Axxess did, they said they are consulting with themselves and would get back, that was a few days ago and still nothing.

Honesty is the best policy AH, shame on you!

Same network, well done Axxess for treating your customers with a bit of dignity and respect!

EDIT: and for not using the word SOON

It's all about ramming as many unsuspecting new clients onto the product as possible, so that they can afford to pay out all those 60 day guarantee refund requests they are now getting from people who don't take **** from their service provider. I'm still waiting for mine, 2 weeks later.

That's the beauty of AH's non-draconian cancellation policies, at least. You can cancel now and be out by month's end. Personally, I'm trying to decide between WA's new capped packages and AH's new capped packages at the moment. The former locks me in to a one month cancellation period, and the latter is still subject to the CPT IPC issues, but seems to perform better than Business Uncapped. Tough choice.

Unfortunately it's too expensive. I've noticed over the past few months my usage seems to average around 300gb, maybe a tiny bit more on heavy months - so it doesn't make sense to continue to pay for 10mbps business uncapped when I could chop 400 bucks off the price and get an equal or better service.

I am considering switching over, but does this account have any limitations, I download about 300GB per month. But don't want any limits which currently don't happen on Afrihost, but then with all the issues on Afrihost with Supersport and TwitchTV I need to decide what to do. The WebAfrica Business Pro accounts are too expensive.

You won't have any problems at all. I recommend you give it a try.

Until something goes wrong yes... A simple question posed in a support ticket, almost two weeks now without a answer... I will soon be taking the more formal method of lodging a complaint in writing and all that.

Looks like I spoke to soon, my downloads are maxing out at 266kbps, my line is now syncing at only 3mbps.

Logged a support ticket but keep getting responses from different support staff, having the issue since last week.

If I ask them to put my line back onto 4mbps and change to my old account that I still have active with OW, I get over 400KBps download speed.

@Afriguy, @Afriman, I have sent the PM with the support ticket, extremely frustrated. I need this sorted or I will have to cancel.

My line speed above is 3072, but it was 4096, they have tried dropping it and putting it back to 4096 with no change.

I have reset my modem to factory defaults, tried different DNS, only fix is to change the account.

It is only since moving my line to Afrihost.

Sorry to hear you're having issues here, I've got your PM open and will be following up with our team.

Hi Afriguy,
This is really getting a bit long in the tooth, I really don't feel that I should be paying for a full month of your product (10M Business Uncapped) when it clearly isn't performing to spec and we don't seem to have a hard end in sight.

My fault logged with MTN on the 07/03 still hasn't been given any feedback either (#HNV-489-11061).

Additionally I have just been cut off from your call system when I was first in line (after 8 minutes) - Afrihost, not really the home of pure internet joy...

Sorry about this :(
I'll have this ticket followed up urgently for you.

Crap speeds once again

Is this a speedtest to a local server?

Recreate port doesnt work in CZ even when trying from a smartphone not connected to the router :(

Odd, perhaps your exchange is having communication issues - or Telkoms systems are running some maintenance.
Drop me a PM if you're still having issues :)

So after sending AfriHost multiple emails explaining that it is not a line issue, when setting my line back to 4096 and using the OpenWeb account it works perfectly they have emailed me to tell me they are sending out a Telkom technician and they cannot tell me when he will be there.

@Afriman, @AfriGuy, @Afrigal, what is the cancellation process as I am not sitting on hold with your call center for half an hour just to speak to someone that does not know what is going in.....

***Update, got a response from AfriGirl this morning, they will be calling me so I will wait and see. Thanks for at least getting back to me.

***Update, got a call from Afrhiost shortly after the pm to @Afrigirl, thanks for this but I am in and out of coverage at the moment and the call went straight to voicemail. Please see pm for contact hours. Thanks again for at least trying and responding to my messages.

Glad to hear we're making inroads on this, thanks for keeping us posted!

While Axxess do use the same network, they do run things differently compared to us.

Ye I feel a bit let down, normally afrihost is active on these forums, providing updates to the situation, but now it is as if they realise that most of the problems are IPC related, which are unsolvable without an IPC upgrade so they kinda not around on here so frequently anymore...pity. There support was once very good.

We're still here :)

Hi Afriguy, just to maybe give you some more detail.

There where two issues, one was an authentication issue which was resolved a while back already and then the second issue was the speed issue.

I received the first reply to my ticket asking me to please check again that the issue was resolved, I checked and the authentication was working but speed was still poor.

I then received several more emails either asking me to test again, information I had already provided or to tell me it is a Telkom fault. Now a short little while ago I get another email saying that Mao had just investigated my authentication problem and reset my password, but this was previously fixed and the only issue I am having is speed related.

There seems to be a heck of a lot of confusion going on there at Afrihost and it does not help that each email is from a different support person, I never deal with the same person meaning I have to keep explaining myself and they are not assisting.

Not sure what more can be done, hopefully you guys will be contacting me tonight and we can close this off.

I don't think this is fair? :( You guys don't even know when, so how can you promise that it will be soon?

We're waiting final confirmations on this, in the past the wait hasn't been too long. I'll update once I have a clearer date line.

Thanks for the additional info, it's appreciated! I'll have it passed onto our team for some additional troubleshooting.

Thanks, really appreciate it. Really hope we can get to the bottom of this, if it is related to the IPC capacity, I understand and will hand on till it gets sorted on that side, but would just like some sort of confirmation as it was working great.
