The problem regarding poor throughput on a business uncapped account

Oh after hours I assume as I have no issues during the day. Give me downloads in the day and streaming at night. Then I am a happy chappy

Everybody should be having the same experience on their Afrihost Business Uncapped now as they did earlier today. And by earlier, I mean while the sun was still up.

I just have severe latency issues, I have opened a ticket with Telkom on Monday and still waiting on a technician.
I have 10Mbps Business Uncapped Bundled with Afrihost.

Through-put is ok-ish, but latency effects it negatively.
If the latency is normal around 6ms then I get full line speed about 8.23Mbps

Had full line speed since 10PM last night and still going strong. Downloading at full speed!

Nice. So you're completely unaffected by the Seacom link failure?

Honestly (not trying to be funny) I didn't know Seacom was down again :wtf:

So that would be a yes

Had a very nice Telkom Technician coming to look at my latency issues.
He consulted with a Specialist Technician and they have moved my ADSL onto a new DSLAM.
Things now look rosy again... will see how it handles between 8 - 12pm, that is when I normally hit max latency.

Fantastic news! Please let us know after continued testing

I have problems with International, could the SEACOM issue be affecting Afrihost?

Hi all,
how do I go about getting a test on this Business Uncapped ADSL?

thanks,
Julien

I don't think Afrihost have trial accounts. If you sign up now you pay R1 for March, and their website claims that they guarantee 60 days satisfaction. It's such a good deal, just dive in.

Correct but Peps you must cancel the R1 account BEFORE the 25th aka on the 24th. Otherwise you will be charged full amount for April

Peps, you won't be disappointed. I signed up for the uncapped account, and will continue with it until end of April, then decide whether or not I should go on the business uncapped...

Thank you all.

so if I signup anytime during the month, I'll only get charged R1 as long as I cancel before the 25th - correct?

That won't leave me enough time to test it as I'm away this weekend but will mostly do so next month.

Thanks again.
