Fix the damn streaming issues, FFS.

I have had it with doing tests, more tests, and yet more tests for the last month and sweet f-all is getting done about it.

Streaming beautifully :)

I am happy for you:) No really, I am happy for those that do not have streaming issues as I was one of you not that long ago.

As of around 3pm today, ALL Youtube vids I set to 720p go to around 25 seconds and then freeze (like the one in the screenshot). I have to refresh the page at least 3 or 4 times and then it will play, after letting the vids buffer for at least 5 minutes before watching.

Just when I thought a 6MB connection could not get any worse:whistle:.
No issues with streaming? Really? Next joke, please...

I feel your pain, I am on the 10mb business uncapped, almost every youtube video stutters, been having issues for the last 1-2 months now, nothing has been done...time to give my money elsewhere

Have you guys with the streaming issues checking performance with other ISP's free accounts? My 8Mbit AH Business account is going fine.

You're lucky. It's very very location based.
I have been using their test capped account since mid last week while they test my account and no go. No change. YouTube was a bit better but Netflix still a mess.
Last night Netflix would not even play anything. Switched over to the Web Africa Home Uncapped and boom. Zero issues since.

Afrihost seemed to want to assist with my issues since I put in my cancellation but it has gone no where. Zero feedback on the testing they doing on my Business Uncapped.

Giving up and moving on now. Tired of the family moaning at me because I insist on sticking around in the hopes something is fixed.

currently using a test account from another ISP and it's running so much better than my current AH business account...

Isnt that the point of a test account? To entice you to leave your current ISP. Don't be surprised when you don't have the same experience once you have a "proper" account from the new ISP once you have signed up.

So I should basically just stay with AH and pay a lot of cash for an account that doesn't function as well, streaming is a pain, online gaming is crap, thanks but no thanks...I will test the waters elsewhere....

After my experience with AH in the last 90 days or so, there really isn't much that could surprise me...

The same can be said about AH trial and their Business Accounts. Streaming works 100% on trial but can't keep HD going on Business 20Mb.

Have to switch to another ISP every time we do some gaming - gaming(international) on AH business account is terrible. Also had streaming problems on AH this weekend.

Zertop's "Is it my Line" Results
Basic Report:
Your average ping was 43ms
Your maximum ping was 169ms

Looking at your average ping, your line seems to be a bit dodgy :/ This may account for any slow speeds you may be experiencing. However, it could just be related to a high-latency home network (ie... Wi-Fi). If you feel the need, please post the results (at the end of the program) into the forum for advice

Ping seems pretty inconsistent. I se you're pinging a server within the MTN network, but that doesn't really tell me much unless I can see the full trace to the server. It might be better to use our Network Test App so I can see comparative trace routes :(

Are you able to give us stats about the MTN network, EG, round trip latency, peak GB/s and all the technical stuff?

I can't really give much of that for the overall network. Especially in terms of MTN's management of the network, etc, I would get into a lot of hot water.

I'll give info where I can to help. Maybe if there is something specific that you need or are curious about?

Sorry to hear that you're not getting follow up on the issues you have logged, we definitely do want to help.

I'll check with the guys on the status of your query :(

The same can be said about AH trial and their Business Accounts. Streaming works 100% on trial but can't keep HD going on Business 20Mb.

I know we're going to keep testing and working on this. Logically there is no reason for the accounts to work differently if the line speeds match. There is definitely no intention to have an enticing trial that doesn't live up to the final product, that would be a pretty short-sighted approach on our part :(

Never said you should stick with Afrihost. Merely pointed out that you shouldn't be surprised when the new ISP's proper account doesn't work as well as the test account. That is all.

I understand your logic but as whatwhat pointed out it could happen with all ISP's, so what are we suppose to do...There isn't really any options left, you either stick it out with your current ISP or move elsewhere...if the grass isn't greener on the other side then we are stuffed...I take it your experience with AH thus far has been a pleasant one, good for you if it is...
