Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback

Sorry to see you go :(
There's an option in ClientZone to cancel the line and have it moved back to Telkom. It'll take about 14 days to do so.

@Afriman, can you be a little more specific? I only see "cancel service" is that it? Will I be able to use another ISP on the Afrihost managed line in the meantime? Also is there cost involved moving the line back to Telkom?

Thanks!

Both AfriMan and myself are always open to discussion on a public forum :)
We're being as transparent as absolutely possible, when we hear any news/ feedback around the slow speeds it gets posted here.

I know this is all really, really frustrating. I would be just as frustrated :( I promise, we have our best guys on this working to normalise speeds.

Sorry!! But if that is the case then your "best guys" are just not up to the task. After days of this problem, and it has been simmering for a lot longer, they still have no idea what the problem is and therefore no idea of how to fix it or when that will happen.

One would assume that they would be in a better position to monitor the network and see exactly where the problem is. It is quite clear from the outside that there is a severe capacity problem and that no amount of optimization, fine tuning, denial or delaying is going to fix it.

And the epic IPC Upgrade failure, and a few other things too...

By the looks of things on here, I feel that the majority would not agree with you :) But I'm glad you think it's funny :) Just shows how much your users really mean to you.

The IPC has been a few upgrades.

Cancel service is the correct button. If you're cancelling your line it'll open a box asking whether you want to move back to Telkom, relocate or cancel the line all together.

You can use any data account when your line is with us. No costs or downtime are involved in the move.

I believe some changes were made on Tuesday to address this, obviously not the best time to test this though :(
Once the demand levels normalise we can re-look this with fresh eyes.

Or putting this another way.... Your internet is broken. Let's wait until its fixed.... and then we can take a fresh look at fixing it.

We're honestly trying our hardest to normalise service levels for everyone at this point.
Once this is resolved we'll be able to attend to future planning/ implementations.

I'm at work and my fiancée just phoned me to tell me the internet is useless at our home. She can't even browse pinterest or play the odd game of guildwars.

So much for me playing Destiny this weekend. Great job AH :)

Sorry about that :( I'm keeping fingers crossed you'll be able to get some game time a little later this evening.

The best thing is to do when you get home is go to bed and wake up around 2am. Then you can truly enjoy what has become the new Afrihost Business hours.

You clearly didn't meet their trace route and speedtest result quota. Better send a few more just in case... that will speed things up...

Just don't expect to play a game during that time,

Really sorry to hear it's come to that, once the demand has normalised I'm positive things will return to normal.

That is simply not true. I've had this problem since the 12th.

Demand is not the issue.

So you ignore what I said and repeat yourself?

I think we've already discussed what's on the table, we're going around in circles. I get you're frustrated but it's really hard to communicate with you at this level.

At the moment, demand is the issue.
Once resolved, things will return to normal.

Or more accurately the demand is exceeding the capacity of the network. The way to fix it is to increase the capacity. Leave it as it is and you will shed customers until the demand and capacity reach equilibrium again.

We still don't have an explanation as to why this has only affected AH.

Communication is a two way street Afriguy. Your ad hominem attacks are getting a bit much at this point. The problem is not me. I am paying for a service that has now not been delivered for 8 days.

You claim the problem is demand, I tell you it can't be because xyz, you tell me to stop being unreasonable.

Where is the communication?
