Yes the IPC in Cape Town is down, and traffic is re-routing via Johannesburg now.

Internet is still crap for me. Really disappointed. Hopefully these Afrihost hardware issues are far and few between.

You meant to say, these "Telkom Hardware issues"
IPC is Telkom hardware, not Afrihost.

Then why do other accounts of mine perform so much better? Less than 1Mbps on Afrihost Business. 3Mbps with free Imaginet account. Afaik all PE ADSL traffic moves through CT.
 
Afrihosts service is rubbish and has been rubbish on my business account for over 8 months now. I dont recommend Afrihost to anyone, its just a disaster. The only way I get a modicum of service out of my account is by encrypting 100% of my traffic and obscuring it over ports that are unshaped. International is seriously a joke on 10meg, and eventually when I get around to it, I will just switch to a better provider. Sorry but Afrihost is the worst ISP I have ever used. Plain and simple. One of my friends on Afrihost has the same crap as I do at the exact same times, where everything just slows down for no apparent reason (ie people start using the internet).

Because every ISP have there own IPC connection/hardware cards/link.
If ISP A's IPC link fail it does not mean that ISP B will be effected, unless there are a multi failure of hardware.

I beg to differ, I have no issues with my Afrishost Business account.
After Telkom finally fixed my ADSL line last Friday due to congested DSLAM this is my results.

Afrihost can only throughput to you what Telkom equipment allows.

Sure differ all you want, but when I test with another ISP's account the throughput is more at the times its slow with AH. Certain times I get good speeds, but big deal, I want a consistent service, not sometimes fast and sometimes dog slow. If your happy with that arrangement good on you.

It is fast all the time, day/night, only when the EASSY cable went down I had a short period of slowness but it was brief, and then last night again when the IPC in Cape Town failed.
 
I see the IPC routing has changed... did Telkom setup a new IPC in Cape Town for MTN?

There are a few IPC IP's , I have notice 3-- 1a, 2a, 3a.
I am not sure how it works but depending where you trying to reach it will route via 1 of the 3 IP's
 
Had a few problems this week with this account. So far Afrihost guys have been helpful, last night and this morning the account is running perfectly.
 
On the whole I have found my account to be very reliable.
 
Last night Youtube and Netflix worked perfectly
 
Netflix still working well but now testing SkyGO
 
My account is working acceptably.

You should add your location in your MyBB profile so people know where you are connecting from.
 
Had no issues at all this weekend, apart from a 10 minute slowdown.
 
Same here, been very happy with Business Uncapped Performance so far.
