Still no word regarding adjusted capped pricing AfriMan/Guy?
My VDSL upgrade is due within the next 48 hours, and I've grown accustomed to the amazing performance of Business Uncapped! However the pricing for business uncapped 20mbps is crazy, and I don't want to "downgrade" to regular uncapped. (which is still quite expensive at 20mbps too)
There's no comparison between the new WebAfrica pricing where I can get ~400gb (I do most of my downloading during their Download Plus time) for R599/month and only 300gb from AH at R1199/month :/
I don't want to leave, but it's a no-brainer at the moment!

I am just checking on my future ISP. G'day Afriperson de jour.
In fact its the wifes birthday next week, I am considering telling her I got her an AH Business Account ....
Its a win / win deal - I win by getting the account and I win by not having to blow a few hundred (now virtually worthless) Rand on a gift. A win / win situation indeed.
We haven't yet finalised new pricing, becuase a lot changed in the last weeks with Telkom making changes on their pricing as well. What I can promise is that any delays are due to us trying to squeeze every cent of value out to pass onto our clients. We always get pricing right, and I would bet the farm (or in my case, the vegetable patch) on us getting the best pricing around once we've made our changes.
Please hold on, we'd hate to see you go only to be stuck somewhere else when our prices hit

When I sign up for Business, likely at 00h01 on 1 March 2014 when my current account at another ISP ends, will it be instant? I already have an Afrihost account which I use for prepaid data. Will I use the same username/password, or will I get a new one?

Great to hear that you've be joining us
If you sign up a new product (i.e. keeping your prepaid account as it) then you'll get a new username and password. If you already have an active DSL product, then you won't need to verify the product and you can use it instantly.
If you upgrade your prepaid product to Business, then you can keep the same username.

Cool, I will upgrade my prepaid to BU, so it should be instant then?
Not at the moment, but I might get a bundle in the future.

I signed up on a Saturday afternoon, as a new business package client, emailed copy of ID through and my new account was active within 20 minutes.
So, with me, it was almost instant.

Heheheheheh ... I could not wait to cancel my OW first, so have had a month of 2 ISP subscriptions. It also meant I could compare both at various times.... and the Afrihost has been perfect, while the Gold OW has still been crap... and after the 2nd week have not bothered with the OW one at all.
So then at 11:59.59 I will say welcome on board!

I'd love to, but come the 25th I'll be billed for another month of Business Uncapped at 10mbps, and my line will be running at 20mbps by then - and I'm all about instant gratification, so running at 10mbps on a 20mbps line would drive me nuts
Do you have a rough estimate, or even a guess as to when the pricing changes will happen? Maybe I can make some plan in the meantime so I'm not paying for only 10mbps, and not locked in to a month's notice period at another ISP.

As long as the DSL product you previously verified is still active, it should be fine
That's why it's always a good idea to hang onto Free GB accounts

You could consider going capped, which will work on DSL line and you'll get the full 20Mbps service.
Well yes - that was my plan - but your capped prices are really high in comparison to other ISPs which shall not be mentioned, at the moment - hence wanting a rough date so I know how long I need to hold out
