If it was not working as advertised, it will be so for everybody. You talking about a half-truth there: Its perhaps *** for you, but working perfect me. So in fact it is then working as advertised, but not for everyone.

Perhaps if the NP didn't kick out BT back in the day and the ANC kept it so by finalizing the x-koms we would not be where we were to day. Nonetheless someone should take responsibility here and some sort of compensation should be given imho. If your telkom line does not work you can claim that back from accounts for that period of time which I have done before...

and where are you based, most people with issues are in the South, amd even Afrihost have admitted to issues??

Eeek, thnx for that.

Trying to download Naval strike. On AH it was only doing 130+KB/s, my free FNB account is doing 570KB/s....

*sigh*

So am I right in saying that basically in South Africa you need two uncapped accounts, one for when the other is not working...how sad

Just created a free 3GB account on axxess...

Speedtest ... almost fell off my chair!!

I guess the Battlefield 4 DLC update of almost 5GB is not going to help matters for us. So it can be contributing to extra slowness.

Whats going on, on a 10mb line was syncing at 10mb since the telkom upgrade and now it is syncing at 8mb. Not only that but did a speedtest and got 2mb can't even watch a youtube vid without it buffering every 2 seconds.

I had the same, it eventually bumped up to 10mb again after a few days

Ja this is ridiculous now... not even 50kbps download speed on a scp copy. ANY other ISP gives at least 5mbps on my 10mbps line... It must be a exchange thing. The monkey's maning the support desk is also rather entertaining - to say the least.

Afrihost is pretty much a joke at this point in time. You may just as well shut your IPC down - I'd rather have a *broken* internet connection, than a internet connection where I have to BEG for the bytes to crawl down.

Anyone tried Axxess. Might give them a go?
I see they changed their terms now,
Always Unshaped
This service has no prioritization of any traffic. In other words; unshaped is a better, faster connection.

So no P2P Shaping?

These results look pretty solid to me. 152ms to the UK is actually really good, and 10ms local is definitely good.

These don't tell the whole story.... besides, it didn't last.... and all of a sudden, after a year of having my line with absolutely no faults/issues, I am now being told that my attenuation is a bit high and I need to drop down to 8MB - WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP!

Here are the results as of 15:00 Sunday (ONCE AGAIN... this is the 4th time since 26 February that my line has gone for S***t at exactly 15:00 on a SUNDAY):
