Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback

Again, you're looking at this out of context and also adding your own spin to it. Notice was given - more than fair notice, as well as compensation. I think you're also over-dramaztising aspects. There was never any question of his Telkom line being cancelled and that wasn't a question that was raised at any point. We move lines back to Telkom and they stay active throughout.

Which aspects of what I posted are untrue? Please point them out.

There has still been no official communication to jeanres about the cancellation. The first communication he received was from Wendy in your accounts department asking for his banking details for a refund, to which he asked why that was happening. She informed him that you have instructed her to cancel all of his services, and subsequently she asked if he'd like to keep his Telkom line. He asked to be contacted by phone to discuss as he is not happy with what has transpired.

That is the communication that took place long after you cancelled his account. A formal notice would be an email to the client indicating that Afrihost would be terminating his service in lieu of a breach of contract, quoting the relevant clauses, and explaining the process to him. Instead the cancellation went off without formal notice, and he had to subsequently deal with an accounts department to clarify things, to which he has had no response yet.

All because you didn't like his actions on he forum, where there exists a report button to report posts you feel are not topical or are against other forum rules.

There's no spin on this. I have the communication in front of me here...

@Afriman if you guys do not have the capital to refund us, why not just say guys we are sorry but we cannot refund you. I guess that is what you have been saying all along but in a round about manner

Woah woah woah, is disclosing e-mails and PMs allowed now?
Bannable offence, and still is.

Reposting private PM/EMAIL and posting of personal information - Ban warning

Hi guys! Some folks see it fit to repost without permission some private communication done via email or PM when it suits them. This is not how email or PM's work. If any person repost PM or email content without permission and somebody points it out, the person who posted it can expect a 1 day ban from me! Private communication is PRIVATE!

Thanks
Antowan

Both, do not publicly post anything that anyone else has written in a private message, also the permission clause is revoked, i.e. only the original author of something written in a private message is allowed to publicly post what they personally have written, and anything that anyone else has written [e.g. p.m. quote blocks] must first be deleted prior to the original author posting what they have personally written, that means that only the original author may grant them self permission to publicly post what they have written in a private message.

AfriMan: Were you given permission by your management, Gian or anyone else who has authority to cancel Jeanres account?

Or did you do so simply because he hurt your ego?

I'd like to know if this was a personal vendetta or if this came from top management.

As mentioned, that's within our purview as company reps. I'm not sure where this involves my ego, it really is nothing personal between me and the client, I've told him that I actually think he's a nice guy. But on a business level, the relationship was irretrievably broken.

jeanres provided me with permission to provide context based on some private communication. The permission has been granted.

If Afriman takes issue with this he is welcome to PM me and I will remove the posts, but all they do is provide true context to the spin being displayed here.

As for information posted, they are jeanres' emails, and he has no issue with the details of them being disclosed in an effort to show that he's tried to resolve this.

To such an extent that he proposed in private a course of action where they could both find a middle ground and work together. Afriman's accusation of trust being broken is ridiculous on this basis. jeanres attempted to find a true middle ground with Afrihost, in an attempt to resolve this, and prevent his account from being cancelled. They have so far refused. Tell me who is really the one at fault here for the breakdown of trust? In my experience it's not the guy trying to find a middle ground, agreeing not to post negatively any longer, begging for his account not to be closed, and attempting to resolve this via private channels. It's the one refusing to acknowledge legitimate issues and resorting to cancelling customers' accounts because they don't like what they're reading in feedback threads...

@Afriman again I ask nicely not to cancel my account as its a PITA to move ISP's, because of static ip's firewalls etc...

Wait, let me get this right: after 6-7 months of waiting, the IPC order is still to arrive? :wtf:

Yes. But be very careful about what you now post if you have an Afrihost account, as Afrihost are now setting a precedent that posting negatively about this will result in your account being terminated with them...

@afriman

I think the only thing that is going to calm this thread down is to give definitive answers on the below:

1) Why was jeanres account cancelled ? Quote the T&C's and give an official response from Afrihost, not yourself.
2) Why is the IPC taking so long ? We need the official response, is Telkom taking long, have they got to lay fibre or what ?
3) Why should the peeps here continue to pay a premium from a non functioning service ? Will you provide discounts because we can't use the service as intended ?

If you just answer those directly it will go along way to calming things down here. Why no direct responses to questions ?

I disagree. On a business level its merely a bank transaction not much communication any further. On a personal level alot has transpired. I don't feel its right to cancel with immediate effect without the relevant documentation/legal documentation stating what exactly the client breached. The fact that you are a company and the client is paying for a service rendered puts him within certain rights (e.g. consumer protection act). Thus, you cannot just one the wim of the moment end the service agreement.

You are cancelling the clients account purely because you do not like the way the client and your communication has gone and you are not able to state what the client breached in terms of your TOC that warrants an immediate cancellation.

I think considering the way things have gone, the client would of been happy to have his service re-activated and would of moved on. Atleast I would of. Locking him out of this clientzone to further the cancellation speaks volumes of personal in my opinion.

:)
