Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback

Status

Seems my business account is still up to something.
Capped account from Afrihost, WA and OpenWeb work well but the business account is stuttering along at less that 50kb/s.
Normal speed is 400kb/s.

Are you seeing that from a torrent or file download, or is that your general speed on a speedtest?

My 10mb Uncapped Business account's performance is outstanding! It's the best uncapped account I've ever used.

It should be called the "10mb Uncapped Shizniz"

AriMan please help!

I'm on a 2Mb business uncapped line and am getting speeds of 30Kb....it's been like this for a while now with no improvement.

I give up.
No use paying over a thousand bucks a month for a 10Mb line and an uncapped package and continually having issues like this.
When I get back from holiday on the 2nd May, I am cancelling.

Your ping on the second hop looks pretty horrible. It could suggest an exchange problem like congestion, or a line fault causing intermittent latency.

Have you tested if you get different results with the Telkom Guest Account?

Sorry about this - seems like this line just keeps dropping out.

Have you logged a fault again with Telkom, or are you getting good results on other ISP networks?

Are you seeing that from a torrent or file download, or is that your general speed on a speedtest?

It was everything. Mention the speed as it is what I saw on torrents, then file downloads and finally on Usenet. All items where a capped account was flying.
Speedtest would not even load.

The fault is still open according to Afrihost.
I have no other ISP networks either. My ADSL line is through Afrihost along with the Mifi account.

And I am not going to go open free accounts with other ISP's just to see that the line is at fault.
It is Hellscum and their next to useless lines that are at fault.

Everything you mentioned (except speedtest) could be affected if you have Protocol Prioritisation turned on. Is it definitely off?

Checked last night and just now and it was/is definitely off.
Asked my brother to let me know if the line is still stuttering along but suffice to say I'm not a happy camper at the moment :(

How do you expect us to help you then?

I pay Afrihost over R1000 every month for this ADSL service. They must make sure everything is running fine.
I am not going to spend my time opening free accounts at other ISP's to check line speeds and potential connection/line problems.

I open a support ticket, Afrihost must sort it out. That is what they are paid to do.

I agree. But you are aware that AH have wasted months of people's time when they blamed their IPC issues as line speed issues?

Spending 5min getting another account is better than getting the run around for weeks/months.

This is exactly what we've done in the past for you though, and will continue to work closely with both Telkom and yourself to have all and any faults resolved.

I know for a fact that there was a previous line issue (I saw the damaged line outside our property and even showed it to Hellscum techs numerous times), and it took them over 11 months to fix that. After it was fixed, no issues at all with the ADSL for about 4 months. Until recently again.

It would not surprise me if there is another line that has been damaged somewhere, but that is not my problem. It lies squarely with Afrihost and Telkom to sort it out.

And I owe you many cases of Bells already:cry:
I still say Gian must make a plan and buy out the whole of Telkom's ADSL side so that we can get decent levels of service. It still amazes me that your support people know more about the ADSL things than Telkom themselves know.

Literally hours on the phone to Telkom - still no line.
5 minute phonecall from Afrihost - line problem solved.
That was what happened yesterday morning.

Sadly today, it sucks again.

Have you been in touch with our guys to have a fault logged?
I know it's frustrating, but Telkom really do need to come out and have things sorted out :(

@AfriGuy

Is their something wrong with the business account. Download from Microsoft.
Waited currently over 1min to download a 2.8MB file for windows updated.
International ok?
