@AfriGenie @moron51

P2P seems to be back. Also speeds are around 3 times higher than on my CW account. Let's hope it holds out. :D

Half an hour later and we're back to square 1. P2P client is unable to connect to any peers or seeds. No traffic up or down.

Perhaps it is time to turn off the smart traffic management tools?

P2P still operating here. Little slower now (Around 140Kb/s) on my 4mb line. but better than the 0.1kb/s I was getting 2 hrs ago.

I would perhaps got a bit further... And use a slightly different toolset - like a hammer - but we're looking at various options.

I have a ...linux torrent downloading at 744 kbs... SO p2p seem OK for me right now. In CT.

Ok...well.. there it goes... 208 ping to my local game server....

sigh.

Short lived hope. again.

Yepz, 600ms on WoW and 400ms on smite all EU servers. I just hope the POC network will change it all.

I switched over to WA and the gaming was FAR better. Pings less than a quarter of Afrihost.

My latency is better now. 20~24ms to Google (about 12ms better than before).

Morning All

Latency was pretty poor in the South and East yesterday. This did seem a little more than what we usually see, especially in the East where it seemed consistent throughout the day. We also saw unusual latency spikes in the South, in addition to peak demand period in the evening. Things seemed to have normalised just after 10pm. We're looking into what can be done from our side and whether we can control latency a bit more tightly until we're able to move some users over to our POC networks.

As a temporary measure why not shape torrents and NNTP to half line speed on capped and business accounts. And leave all other traffic unshaped. Just a thought, I would rather have lower latency and slower torrents for now. At least other things will work properly in the interim.

Come now bru - fix the East, forget the Souf. :p

Judging from feedback in these forums and personal experience, p2p and nntp already perform at much lower than half line speed as it is.

Wow... this is the best it has been in a long while.

Please let it remain so... for more than a little while.

I have missed this.
