Afrihost Capped DSL Feedback

I am also on Charlo exchange so obviously an issue there. My afrihost support call said they would escalate to Telkom.

Sounds like there might be, based on your posts. :/ Did you get a reference number from our team?

I see there is a cable break on the SAIX noticeboard now "Link - We have link down at BELLVILLE to EAST LONDON".

Possibly the cause?

Not seeing any general notices affecting these specific lines...

Not sure how good my skills are, but it might be due to all the fibre work going down at Greenacres? They laying 3 different sets (well colours) of fibre at Greenacres.

If you use NBNDLookup.pl and lookup 041368 you get a whole bunch of ISAM's listed and a Current Network Ref(s) of NN0069490. If you use NBProgress.pl with that NN0069490, it lists a notice for Greenacres but it looks like scheduled for 19/10/2017 so I don't know.

Is Charlo routed through Greenacres?

Yes, my range is there - this must be related. Thanks for this.

It very well could be the case. When the provider is laying down fibre there are cases where they have to interrupt a connection to an exchange.

If I am not mistaken, I do not think Charlo routed through Greenacres.

Hmm, that does appear to be planned work for the 19th though. The fact that the ranges listed appear to be the ranges currently affected seems too coincidental?

Have you seen or experienced any issues on your connection since the maintenance was announced?

Mine just seems to have come right. Did get a SMS from Telkom, tested and it was still broken. Decided to upgrade firmware of router for WPA2 vulnerability and when it rebooted throughput was back up to 20mb+
