Afrihost Capped DSL Feedback

Downloads from mikrotik.com are awful. Getting ~200kbps on a 100Mbps line at work. Get <100kbps on 4Mbps line at home, although that's Home Uncapped. Get near 100% line speed at home with Telkom account.

Possible issue with "upstream provider" Liquid Telecom. Trace attached.

Thanks!

Latency to EU servers looks ok now. It spiked a bit sharply from 8pm to 9pm last night but was fine thereafter.

I'm still getting the same old issues at night. Was perfect during the day today

The latency on the second to your local exchange is way too high. :( That could definitely be contributing to the poor experience you are having. Could you ping bras.afrihost.com?

I'm getting high ping issues here in Durbs as well. Seems like just another issue with Afrihost.

I definitely need to look into this! Could you post a traceroute to the site or service you are seeing the high latency to?

I'll keep pinging it throughout the day to see if anything changes
You think its an exchange congestion that's giving me kak in the evenings ?
Currently, everything seems perfect during the day.

Thanks!

Has there been any change or improvement? Are you seeing any other sites or services affected?

It was better the next day or so. Bad again today. Haven't noticed it elsewhere. Afrihost & Telkom traces attached.

Test Download
~4KB/s on Afrihost account. ~1.8MB/s on Telkom account.

---------- UPDATE 1: ----------
Actually some sites have been unusually slow for a while now. I just chalked it up to my usage on home uncapped account, but when it's doing it on capped and prepaid accounts too...something is amiss.

Found another significant difference in speeds:
(Prepaid "unshaped" Afrihost account vs Telkom 20GB SoftCap, 4Mbps line)

...and another.....albeit Telkom with slightly worse latency:

It almost looks like about 2 months ago Liquid Telecom went and messed up what seemed to be working fine on Neotel's network. I see they've been the majority shareholder for 2 years. Unfortunately going to have to switch ISP for now, and will be hesitant recommending Afrihost until I see traces without Liquid Telecom in them. :-(

---------- UPDATE 2: ----------
100Mbps line tests. Capped 400GB Telkom data vs Capped 600GB Afrihost data.

It was an issue for about an hour. Started just before my earlier comment. Using MyBB's speed test, I was getting like 150ms. Ping to bras was 20ms so it was definitely your end. BTW, Afriguy never responded to my DM from like a week ago. Telkom did their check and everything about 2 days ago and to no one's surprise, found no issue.
