Afrihost Fibre Feedback

Ok, seems that between this morning and now , someone at Openserve has decided to eventually sync the website coverage page to what's actually the status in the 'field" , meaning yes, I now can place an order. Not wanting to go through 550 + posts in detail, I have some questions that might have been covered already.

1. I'm currently on Afrihost+ package. Will the same apply to fibre, i.e. Double data, etc. etc. ?
2. I assume the 'up to R4000' applies ?
3. Currently Capped/Unshaped . Same on fibre ?
4. Anything else I should be aware/wary of ?

Btw, if I do order, do I go via Clientzone or what ?

You can place the order through the ClientZone, or our website. :) Both options will get you the same R4,000 promotion.

Capped Fibre is identical to Capped DSL, so you will get After-Hours Data, and you can use Plus+ for Double Data. :)

Already did that in parallel to the message above as a reply on last month's PM. Re-sent it now specifically calling out the account username again.

While Afrihost is grappling with the the (seemingly severe) complexities of displaying accurate data usage and availability for capped fibre accounts, how are we supposed to check this in the interim?

Thanks! I'll check on the roll-over data quickly.

Our Team is working on implementing a breakdown of the usage and available data on a Capped Fibre account.

Thanks, but your team has been working on this since I first enquired in June...
The functionality already exists for ADSL and mobile so it is difficult for me to understand why it should take this long.
How do we check rollover amounts remaining and current month data consumed without having to send a pm?
Last month, I could do this by manually subtracting the monthly cap from the one 'counter' there was... this month I'm back at 0mb starting so no idea if my 100 odd GBs from October have carried over.

Your pm reply to me tells me how much I used. I can already see this. How much was carried over?? And can you confirm that the usage you quoted was deducted from my carry-over data?

Correction.
Capped Fibre is identical to capped ADSL with the exception that you won't have any idea if and how much data rolled over and the mobile app will give you zero information on any usage whatsoever.

Hopefully by the time mine is up and running, this would've been addressed ...

I can assure you that our developers are constantly working on improving display features in ClientZone. I'll do my best to help you get a time estimation, but at the moment, please feel free to continue PMing us and we'll reply. :)

Here's the issue:
Your initial PM reply on 3 Nov did not provide the information I was asking for.
Subsequently on 6 Nov, I re-sent a PM with exact questions about the data allocations, carry-over etc.
I followed-up on 7 Nov by forwarding the same PM, this time sent to both AfriGenie and AfriFella.
I'm yet to receive any feedback.

Over and above the fact that as a capped user, I have no idea what data carry-over allocation I have (or don't have) and what is left of carry-over vs current month, this saga has a lot more to do with the general approach by Afrihost towards this kind of thing...

To give credit where it's due, my past experience in the ADSL days was always vastly different to what it is nowadays: Afrihost was the only ISP I could comfortably recommend to colleagues, family and friends, in particular for Responsiveness and overall Customer Experience.

Others might disagree and that is perfectly normal, understandable and acceptable, but my current experience of Afrihost is simply that it is far from the leading-edge ISP it used to be.

I'm sincerely hoping that the 'quick-and-easy' recurring and generic responses by the social media/forum teams will now be followed-up by some real and visible action and progress!

Quick question.. what's the status with AH+ on Fibre ... is it available or not ? if not, when ?

Hi there JanB02. Sorry about the delay here. i can see that your request is around Fibre installation. I've asked our Fibre team to look into this for you.

Yes, thanks. This is the Fibre thread, isn't it?
