Afrihost Fibre Feedback

It's been a while now..... with no ETA

Yup... "a while" as in 6 months for me with no clue of data rollover or usage.
This is my 6th month on fibre where I have no idea how much data used or rolled over and have to beg via PM for balances to be provided and rollover to be applied.
It's rubbish quite frankly.
I think I'm close to giving up and moving on in the new year.

AfriFolks, it really is shameful how you can allow this matter to simply drag on without any closure or resolution for months on end with empty generic promises being thrown back at us every time we enquire.
How can you offer a capped product without the capability to properly track it? Unacceptable.

On your request, I've sent a PM because I somehow need to figure out what my roll-over and current data balances are.

I've received your ticket reference via PM. :) I'll help you get it answered.

Fellow Afrihost clients, I am not receiving feedback or answers from AH - takes days to reply to Clientzone support queries, telephone queries take at least 20 min to be answered and even PM responses on this forum take days.
Time to explore alternatives?
(Note to Afripeople: I am only partly trolling you here - honest questions from me.)

Edit: Calls take 30 min

:( That's not good at all. I haven't gotten a PM from you, is there anything that I can help with?

I repeat what I've said in another thread... AH service levels are not what it was. Not here and, from what I can gather, much the same on the support side. It never took this long for Afri-people to respond on the forums..

You mean apart from the messages on 13, 14 17 and 22 November? And the messages to AfriMan on 10, 13 and 27 Nov? General inbox failure?

:( My apologies, I was under the impression those issues had been resolved. I checked on your ticket about opening the port on your Fibre, and it looks like our Team is waiting for feedback from you.

The other issues were eventually sorted out, yes. They are indeed wating for further input from me this time (I have to google the stuff they ask me every time). The whole experience of getting the fibre connection installed and functioning properly has been very unsatisfactory and not at all on par with my experience of AH over the last 6+ years...
(Done complaining now)

A friend of mine said I should repost this here. This comes from the fibre discussion forum:

Our area recently got fibre. Having been a long standing customer of Afrihost, I went with them for a 20mb 200gb capped package and was guaranteed there would be no throttling or shaping. Day 1, their call center got my order number wrong but still charged me for connection as at that day and not the next day when it was fixed. It was R25 so I wasn't going to cry about it. Everything going ok so far until the Monday evening approx 8:30pm. I can't even load a news24 page or facebook page. I do a speedtest to find that ping is 99ms and speed is down to 2 or 3mbs. No explanation, no one to talk to. I check the morning again, everything fine. Tuesday evening about the same time, bang, same story. I write to them, they will reset fibre. Almost 2 weeks in, Mon to Thurs from 8:30 same issue. I started getting hold of someone on FB and they say they will reset fibre and I must reset router. I do this and after it all starts up again, I have no internet. And poof the person involved has disappeared and I have no internet again. The only 2 times we have tried this, the result has been the same. I have no internet and the person involved has done a runner. I have no kicked off cancellation to move to a different ISP. Unless Afrihost does nothing short of a miracle to change my view and wow me, I will be making my experience known to community forums that are currently busy with having fibre installed in their areas.

:(

There is definitely something not right on your Fibre connection. Our Team on Facebook has sent your details to our Critical Care Team. We've got to figure out what's causing this dips in performance and get it resolved.
